Hi
Lanarkshire fed rule 33 Quote,
Dual membership with other federations will invalidate membership of Lanarkshire Federation Only members holding dual membership in 1986/1987 will be accepted
Clubs applying as new members must comply with this rule within twelve months of acceptance or acceptance becomes invalid
This rule was introduced by past president Mr A Thomson. I was at the meeting and voted for it At that time some members from other Feds namely South Lanarkshire held dual membership with Lanarkshire Some of these members competed weekly in SL but flew in Lanarkshire for our Open races where the big money was To this day there are several members who hold dual membership
This was 20 years ago when SL members where a force to be reckoned with and I did object to paying weekly for birdage with no prize money so the open races could pay bumper prize money
My own opion now on this rule is that it is outdated and should be binned
Cheers and a merry XMAS
