  6. picked up at dundee harbour with one of my own pigeons by local feral catcher reckon probabaly a local bird lost training last year as a YB, as mine was...
  7. have you treated for salmonella/paratyphoid or vaccinated? could have a couple of carriers... if you have not long started i would suspect you have pigeons from a few different sources???

  9. cant be easy trying to race pigeons in these countries with the varying weather conditions to contend with... :-/
  10. ye i think they were caught out with weather conditions, plus the birds maybe not far enough in the hot spots... this they have thought about already for next year and there proposals for next year on the net already... i will be entering again next year, maybe send some distance channel blood this time and a couple sprinters to keep me covered for any eventualities... thats plan B anyway, ha ha... now onto the Emerald Classic, i have three going over to Ireland soon
  11. good something home... still alot of prizemoney up for grabs. read about this 'calima' before the race and as the race dragged on yesterday it was clearly obvious this has been a reason why these pigeons have failed, plus the fact i still maintain they were not trained far enough even to tackle this racepoint on a good day. but here not knocking the organisers, they have done a superb job all year, a totally professional setup... we all get it wrong sometimes and i wouldnt hesitate in sending my pigeons in the future.

  17. ye the heat would have been the killer today no doubt, and i reckon atlantic ocean has prob had a few by now. only chance would be to get one now up to darkness whilst starting to cool down and tomorrow before the sun rises.

  24. Found in Dundee yesterday... a lovely wee chocolate pied short faced tippler (no ring), must be somebodies pet i'm sure. Hopefully claimed soon... if not free to a good home come sunday teatime send me a PM and i can email a photo....
