Did you get in touch with Derek, imagine if he had to send for the 800+ that wkere lost. I got a doo reported which was in last years race and timed in from the race. couple weeks later shu notified me that a fancier had reported my bird (very strange). when i contacted him he told me he bought it at the europa sale and was told by either Derek or one of his staff to report it that way he would get a transfer from me. I thought all along that the bird was registered with the Race loft.

Most of our club use it. great for training if your working and can't be at the loft for the bird return. Also a quicker method to race mark the birds, however it has let a few of our members down in the past with ET rings not being recognised. We where told by the supplier that members should check each ring is being reconised prior to taking the birds for marking in case the rings get damaged. Overall i think it's a good system that is becoming more popular even by those fanciers who where 100% against it at the outset, but i definatly would'nt use it for national racing, maybe use it as a second clock if permitted (@,@)

i was informed that the Birds where up at 0730 this morning in clear blue sky. they cleared in the correct direction immediatly and where expected to hit a head wind further down. I spoke to my mate who has birds in the race half an hour ago and he has heard nothing. He spoke to derek nicols at 1800 and nothing was at the loft. derek said he would call him if birds started to arrive. i have not heard from my mate since. Andy one of the forum members might have some info as his freind is at the race.

Does anyone know the web address for SHU ? Thanks

I currently use the ets, great for training and young bird racing with birds not being frightened. But i would alway use STB quarts for channel racing. When permitted, i wonder if quarts can be used as a second clock? ETS definatly more time saving for fancier and secretary and is becoming more popular in clubs, more fanciers are starting to come around to the idea of ets.
