just a question on what you think we had no birds in our club from the miller gold cup its a 3 day race now the thing is nothing to do with the fed or open just a club thing between members and (friends) we had a race today from pilmore beach and when we clocked our bird 2 minutes later an injured bird hit the board wrecked quarter of a tail and dried blood from his wounds as we aproched the bird we relised it was the verheye cock from the miller gold cup he dropped in the stall and when we went for his rubber it was missing fuming as we were over it we let the bird in and all he wanted was his eggs and box and hen so we decided to bring the bird to the club as we were heading for any way certain members were delighted and had no problem giving first club as the bird would be verified with his race sheet ie they new the bird was in france .as i said it was a club thing thats all sports men were ment to be but the committe dismissed the bird and he was disqulifed i think its sad that members would do this but rules are rules . but the days of sports men were have they gone.ps we won pilmore thats the good end to the story .

why do certain vet fanciers use thin bleach i asked this question and the answer was mixed right once a week only and thin bleach not thick it helps the gut stay free of certain bad bacteria the use it on other birds other than pigeons mate but vinegar mixed with it sounds strange cider vinegar only helps acidfye the crop .

have you any direct sons or daughters off shadow or saffron

it all depends lads on the bleach you use very important and yes it is used to disenfect the birds gut thin bleach is used at a rate of 1 teaspoon to 3 pints of warter and left over night with the birds thin bleach kills viruses in the gut certain ones i use it once a week mate but you have being told thin bleach and nothing else.

must be part of your system then mate jesus i think i might feed snails instead of grits in the morning how long do you think it would take a pigeon to break one down in its system providing it made it past the crop 99% of the time the pigeon will target the shell and to break it for a mineral aid but eat the lot lads not a hope would the bird not have a gut reaction or some way affect the intestines different strokes for different folks.

food is the only way to the birds heart mate try feeding twice a day for example 30 birds 28oz of food 14 in the morning and 14 in the evening but berfor the evening feed have some trapping seed in your the loft coat pocket or tin and kneel down dropping some in front of you and then putting your hand out with trapping seed in it do this for a couple of days and they will some come to you more ofthen than a littel but remember when training starts the food is put up to at least an oz and a quarter each it works well for us plus the young birds digest there food better over two feeds fact and tip bud good luck.
