  2. they were playing CUPAR 2 night, we got beat 4-3, :'( :'( now thats off subject :X
  3. I remember back in the sixties there was 4 of us who didnt have clocks and we had to run to one of the well of fanciers to clock in, there was old Tam scott running and puffinng on his pipe in his mouth he looked like the flying scotsman, and Wullie Henderson who had to stop every 2-3 yards to have suck on his puffer, and when running the wheezing from his chest you thought he was a panda car with his siren on, and there was Jock McFadden he was the worsed he only had one leg, but he had an advantage, he had 2 crutches, and ther was me fit as a fiddle but could'nt run for laughing at the other three, and they say pigeon racing is fair ;D ;D ;D ps. the thread is not off subject as we are still talking about clocking in
  4. yes but its still used today if your clock stops or you dont have a clock you get 4 mins to the mile running time,
  5. thats where the time was taken from Roger Bannister, he had just broken the 4 min mile, and they say its fair to ask old pigen fanciers to do it ;)
  6. just looked up the SHU rule for now, yes its still the same, quote :running allowance 4 mins to the mile by the nearest available route, and cycles half that time, so the only difference from away back is you use cycles now instead of bykes ;D ;D ;D
  7. think its the same 2 day is it not 4 mins to the mile, and no allowance for bandy legs or crutches, never heard of anyone complaining about that ;D ;D ;D
  8. when you have to run to another clock,, you get 4mins to the mile, that was the world record then, was that fair asking old bowdy legget men with 2 sticks to run a mile in the world record ;D ;D ;D PS, and if you used a bike the time was halved
  9. yes u used to run to a given post, with your bird i believe.
  10. it would really have to be reported to the shu office or i think they have a web site now,
  11. without the fed letter on it its a ring that has been purchased by someone from the shu office,
  12. THE FIFER

  19. your doos are faster than mine ;D ;D ;D that's not fare , you can easy get an ets clock but i cant get faster doos as easy ;D ;D ;D
  20. harry you and a lot of others have an advantage over me and i dont moan about it. :(
  21. there has always been advantage harry, what about stall traps they are just about as fast timing as ets, maybe ets will clock a few birds quicker but birds in a stall trap will have advantage over having to catch and take the rubber off, but no one has ever complained about that, but ets doesnt make you win races harry I havent won a race since i got one ;D ;D ;D ;D
  22. its not the ETS brigade you need the answers from harry its the RPRA, its them that didnt let you members have a say, so why not get at them,????????/
  23. wishing you all the best peggysue and looking forward to ure posts and hopefully to let us know you cot the birds home ok, welcome aboard.
  24. same here my neighbour put up a 3 meter wall, no planning, and a large babicue other side with smoke going al;l over the place, i have told him he is out of order, but as long as i get no anioance etc ok, but if i do then the council will be informed, the wall is only 3 ins thick, at that hieght it should be at leased 9 inch
  25. that's my call as well, but some try and get round it for charging for upkeep of the transporter, but to make you pay up front for races is not on, my fed tried it but it was nocked on the head, but then they just put more on the fees, which i dont agree with, in my view races should pay for themselve, and not come off fees, which is for the general running of the clubs,
