was on HMS Sheffield 1951, in Bermuda we had to get out to sea as a hurricane was blowing up, we were 10 days at sea in it, and when we got back into Bermuda it was a wreck, boats up the main streets etc, I never thought a ship could fight those massive waves, one of the Royal Marines duty while at sea was Lifebuoy sentry, very sacary in that weather through the night on the poop deck all alone,
