  6. latest update for scottish fanciers re ban on shows etc, from the scottish exetutive is on pigeon basics news itams.
  7. GOOD COMMENT SHOWMAN, BUT AS WELL ASfanciers being put in the picture i think the general public must be made wise, as they are just going by press reading which is puting all birds a threat, THE DO NOT UNDERSTAND THE DIFFERENCE BETWEEN FERAL AND HOMING PIGEONS
  8. RPRA AND THE SHU ARE THE PEOPLE WHO SHOULD BE SAYING IF SHOWS ETC ARE BANNED
  9. HAPPY BIRTHDAY BARRY have a good day THE FIFER.
  10. cheers mealybar and i agree 100% that poultry should be the first priority on the banning list, like u do not understand this one,
  11. cheers gez sensible coment, as we are only getting people mixed up with info without confermation from the right source, hope all works out,
  12. mealybar does this mean there will be a ban in areas effected by the virus, the question most are confused about is IS THERE A BAN IN THE UK OF SHOWS AND AUCTIONS ETC
  13. no gez but if there is a ban in the uk, who has put it forward, we only want to know what is going on, and is it correct,
  14. if we all keep talking this is banned and that, it will get put into force, still cannot see anything in todays news regarding the banning of shows etc in uk.all i can see is an IMPORT ban on live birds (NOT POULTRY FOR COMMERCIAL PURPOSES) funny one that eh
  15. well done doostalker cheers, good info, but going by things this ban on shows etc in in force now, but by whom.
  16. in today's papers it states a ban on the IMPORT of live birds, and thisdoes not include poultry for comercial purposes, i thought poultry was the cause of all this, but one question, WHO HAS PUT THIS BAN ON SHOWS AUCTIONS ETC IN THE UK
  17. well put bruno, we must not give in, and stick togeather,
  18. yes jimmy as we know its to keep this flu out, but i think in the long run, if the ban is for any length of time will see a big loss in fanciers and breeders, even the weeklies are going to have a big loss in revenue, ie sale of birds etc, also we only havve one organisation to transport birds, amtrack, this could be there chance to get pigeon deliveries off their hands, this is going to hurt the sport a lot more than we think, and this is just taking precautions, when i first read the report of the eu today i thought it was just a ban on IMPORTS, not on the movement etc within the uk.
  19. this is going to hurt the sport a lot , what about all the birds for sale in the weeklies etc, they cannot take place auctions etc, and they would not get birds delivered , will hurt the weeklies a big loss in revenue, but in the long run will save the sport, what will all the dealers do with birds bread for the big shows etc, if they do not take place, what about fanciers selling birds etc if u cannot get them deliverd, louella will be hit hard,
  20. yes got the news regarding the ban on shows etc, on another news channel,
  21. where did rpra manager get his info, no doubt it is right, i have just been onto the news web site and it states "live bird IMPORT ban approved" for one month,
  22. I have the white birds and the problem i have been having for the past year or so is they are breeding whites with blue grizzle tails and flights,
  23. cheers bruno and rose, this book was written by captain jim flood a fellow scribe of mine with the old pigeon sport paper, he was with the army medical core i believe, and with the nhs labs last i heard, well done,
  24. ANYONE KNOW WHAT "AVIAN CHLAMYDIOSIS" IS, ITS A BIRD FLU, WHICH IS MENTIONED IN A PIGEON HEALTH BOOK I HAVE WHICH WAS PRINTED A FEW YEARS AGO, IT GIVES SYMTOMS AND TREATEMENT, IS IT TO DO WITH THE ONE WE ARE CONCERNED ABOUT NOW.ANY ANSWERS.
  25. LOOKING THROUGH THE BOOK.. THE AILMENTS AND DISEASES OF RACING PIGEONS, BY OLD HAND, SYMPTOM BIRDS BEING DRIVEN OFF THE NEST ETC, PERCHED BIRDS CAN BE SEEN TO SCRATCH AND KICK VIOLENTLY , DIAGNOSES.. EXTERNAL PARASITES IE RED MITE. MY CURE A STRONG BATH IN GARLIC WATER, I USE THIS WEEKLY, KEEPS THE BIRDS KLEAN,THE TREATMENT FROM THE BOOK IS LOFT COMPOUND ON THE FLOORS AND IN BOXES ETC, ANOTHER GOOD ONE IS TO SPRAY UR LOFT WITH BLEACH AND WATER BUT MAKE SURE IT IS DRY BEFORE LETTING THE BIRDS IN AS IT DOES DAMAGE THEIR FEATHERS, IF U DO NOT WANT TO USE BLEACH SPRAY WITH STRONG GARLIC WATER. DURAMITEX IS ANOTHER GOOD ONE, BUT NEVR GO PAT ARI IN HE BAT VEY GOFR THE BIRDS THE FIFER.
