Advert in the BHW this week mate

Mick The reason i didnt like the letter was, to me it was saying "we are doing our best so shut up" and as you are a commitee member and you do represent the National Flying Club in an offical way then its fair to assume you were talking as a committee member!!! But i except your point on that matter. Whatever you think Mick the National Flying Club is on a downward slop and not a rising one and the vast majority of the Members and for that matter Pigeon Fanciers as a whole in this country think the club are in a mess!!! John is merely pointing that out! However i am aware that its been a difficult season but i dont see the MNFC, BICC etc having members so p****d off! (Qoute) "You say that he is only saying what a lot of members in the Europa classic had been wanting to say, well, I am only saying what a lot of fanciers up here are wanting to say, they think he is a professional moaner, only an opinion". One of the problems Mick is the NFC members in the southern sections, the sections that have supported the Club year after year believe they are no longer being considered when decisions are made and when you say things like "the guys up here think he is pro moaner" maybe you should think long and hard about your words. John is a very popular guy down here and these things are often taken a different way than they ment!!! No hard feelings Regards Stuart Wilcox

Agree 100% Lovedeanlad, To me when your voted onto a committee your there to listen to the members not shut them up, it touches on arrogence to say the least. Stuart

You are introducing a new family, you have done your home work and found a fancier who is winning at the highest level at the distance you want to compete from with the right number of birds. Your 100% confident that this personnel will supply you with very good pigeons. You arrive at his loft to select your 6 pigeons and he takes you into section with 30 birds and tells you to select your own. He also tells you that the 30 young birds are from his breeders so there are all equal on pedigree. Now what criteria would you use to select these 6 pigeons? Wing, Balance, Throut, Look, feathering the list goes on. Would you go by instinct or intellegence (if you have the time to study them) or would simply ask the breeder to select them for you??? Reading the letters this week i noticed Mick McGrevy (commitee member NFC) wrote a letter basically telling John Staddon to shut up. I for one thought this was in very bad taste and in my mind as a member John Staddon has the right to express his view (providing they are factual) and really Mick was saying shut up John its nothing to do with you. The Staddon Brothers have done alot for the sport and alot for the NFC and have certainly supported the races over many years and i dont think they should be made to feel by a commitee member that they cant express there view. Lots of people at the Europa Classic were of the same opinion, it was in bad taste and most were of the opinion John was only saying what all have been wanting say. The NFC seem to be moving more and more away from its members. Stuart Wilcox

Henrik nothing you have said has any credence in this debate! They are all none factual and i could tell you 200 or more stories how seals have fell off clocks, putting them in the oven but they mean nothing!! I once got in trouble because i timed two birds on the same secound with a T3 but they are still used. The real debate is, 1)Would ets benifit the sport. 2)Will it give an advantage. 3)Would a handicap system work to allow traditional clocks to be used on a level playing field. Its the constructive answering of these points that will allow a sensible debate. I look at somebody like Peter Wilcox the well known BBC conveyer (no relation) who cant handle a pigeon because he suffered from a illness as a child, do you ever consider those pepole henrik? Stuart

I know this sounds a little odd but if a novice contacts me i wont let him buy the expensive birds even if he wants them. Stuart

Its not about lottery grants, ETS or anything else, its about the future of our sport. the sport we all love may i add. In Holland, Belguim and America they us the ETS system without a proplem. The sport in this country has to move forward so that we can unite for whats going to be a tough future and whether we like it or not progress is progress and it will not be long before other technoligies come along, are we going to dismiss those as well whilst the rest of world imprace them. Im the proud owner of red cock, a theelen x aarden that flew exceptional as a young bird this year, he won 2 x 1st 1 x 3rd and 1 x 4th however the last two weeks he has shown serious signs of stress when he has returned due to being clocked. Last week he returned with his sister who won 1st, he came in 7 minutes later and this week the same happened, this time he took 22 minutes. In my opinion with ETS he would have won 6 x 1st on the bounce, won an RPRA award and still be enjoying racing, now he is already looking at retirement!!!!! Stuart Wilcox
