I personally dont think this interaction is a bad thing. In fact if Amtrak had been more approachable then maybe their old service wouldn't have been as bad as it was a times?

7 days worth is no bad thing after treatment/vaccination etc
-
I think some people like to worry to be honest strapper. Quite agree that a few of the more common treatments have a resonable shelf life and are worth keeping to hand, we have always done this and should a problem crop up, and from time to time it does, then it never becomes a real problem, just a niggle. One golden rule I have always stuck to is never let a stray enter the loft! If one needs to be caught then its in a wooden box isolated well away from our birds where it can be fed and watered as there is usually a reason they dont go home, they aint all thick.

Use that email address I sent you via PM Vic. Top bloke that believe me they dont come much better!

Well I have just been told "Mothballs" are something cats cant stand so will be trying them out as the 4 cats my neighbour has are a pain in the grass, S**T everywhere, let alone the terror the birds suffer from the pesky things!

Have a brew for me Ted and weldone buddy
-
Ted dont let the stupid comments of some bring you down and stop you entering anything in the future. As far as I see it you are the winner and thats all there is to it. As for what you do with your winnings is of no concern to anyone but yourself. My advice would be just enjoy the glory and spend a little on polish to keep the trophy shining! Well done mate!!

Does this Numpty club cost lots to activate and will I be thrown out in bad weather? If its cheeper than EURDOPA then count me in!

I ment the site not individuals dont get excited lol
-
The use of the word "Professional sellers" conjours up all sorts of ideas, especially if the inland revenue were to see phrases like that!

CJ looks a nice boy lol

The only problem I noticed was when nesting the older gulls did take a great dislike to some saddle backs and whites which I had in the past, got rid of them and they have been fine this year. The youngsters didnt take a blind bit of notice of sausage (the gull) he used to walk round with them, must say he did try to peck at the rings on their legs occasionally but they just stepped aside and ignored him. Summer is over as the gulls are no longer at their nest sites but congregating in large flocks away from here more, getting ready to migrate, the ones from round here have been tracked to spending the winter round the Algarve area of Portugal, buggered if I'd come back here if I was them lol. Mr Sparrow hawk has already started to make regular appearences again now they are going

I was going to be out in the open but saw you there and thought nah! lol (cant do smilies mine dont work) :~( On a serious note though some farmers will be struggling after last years bad harvest and this one being even worse! Cant claim on crops either, classed as an act of God!!! Big loss to cover all the time, the deep pockets and short arms are suffering for sure!
-
I have been feeding them for a while now, council here have been on the war path and removed all the nests with eggs and chicks in alike and destroyed them this year, not very nice as there are actually a species on an amber alert but guess if it suits they can please themselves! (pitty we cant with hawks). They do me and my boy a favour when here nesting as the sparrow hawks or any others never venture near beacuse they get mobed. There is a price to pay though, you cant leave anything unattended on the patio table or the big guy that nests on the warehouse at the back will have away with it sharpish! While rearing the little fella he managed to get 2 plastic dishes 2 large galleypots and to my old mothers disgust one of her bone china saucers lol. Heres another pic of my little friend taking it easy
-
I doubt they will get many today, weather isnt on their side, woke up to monsoon like weather here in Hereford and thats on their line of flight as the birds come through here and no way is a moulting, tired youngster going far in this
-
Your not far wrong but should have said big cost bird! That bugger ate cat food for fun to start with then got fussy, wouldn't eat normal garbage seagulls do, had to be breaded ham and roast chicken Etc, still it did him a favour and helped my diet lol
-
You have done your bit to populate town centres too, so pot calling the kettle black springs to mind! Instead of sniping at eachother perhaps you so called one loft managers should get together and sort yourselves out more for the sake of the birds than anything else!
-
All well and good when they are your own just up the road and not thousands of eyes watching but from experience over the years them sort of sky's spell danger for racing!
-
Summer is over for me too, spent the last 7 and a half weeks hand rearing a lesser black backed gull chick I found in the street that had fallen from next doors chimney, today he flew off with is own kind. Good luck to you little buddy you'll be missed round here!
-
Just the right time of year to lift it too! NOT!!.......Whats the betting it will be back before racing next year if it is the case?

Welldone To you Navigator and good for you Andrew, its nice to see you get one back on the knockers! -
Well I am in a slightly tight position finacially and was intending to offer all my non-flying out stock birds for sale on this site, 12 pairs in all, in order to cut costs and carry on flying in this sport for a little longer. In order to do this I will have to send you £20 in advance +10% of money over the £360 ceiling you have set, if I sell the pairs at £100 a pair that will be another £84, it will work out cheeper to have half a page in the British Homing world! (£84.10 including VAT) I am not a profesional seller and have no intention of being one, yet this will class me as just that! I have as you know not only been helped by this site but also donated birds to go towards helping others, which has been a pleasure to give something back but I feel this is becomming a little comercialised now. I can see the sort of seller you are aiming this at but it isnt always the case. The price I quoted above is what my asking price would have been and trust me NO WAY am I making money on them, I shudder to think what the financial loss to my pocket over the years would be! Sorry to have to say it but you have priced me out of the market

Nature is a funny old gal though, bought 2 pairs of late breds off Chris Howse last september and guess what? Yes they went down of their own accord and successfully reared youngsters in January! So not impossible and those birds show no sign of stress, ill health or anything else detrimental to themselves. Another example is a couple of latebred Van Reets I had that chose not to go down untill April so just depends on the birds I guess! Cant see it is any diferent racing youngbirds bred this April/May to youngsters of their own now. If conditions are right they will be at it! Im off now to cash in on the fact I've found Lord Loucan! Now that really is UNBELIEVABLE lol
-
This is not always the case, I will be forced to sell a lot of my stock pairs very shortly, some have bred 3 or 4 Fed winners and all have bred club winners, not only for me but others also. There is a very good reason for selling them and not personal gain either! When these birds come up for sale I hope everyone doesnt think like that!!

I know the feeling I haven't had a pigeon reported in years! Sure they cant all be dead
