No birds on rig this morning. Wind down a good bit here today. hope they all make it back. All though we are 70 mls from yarmouth .We are only 46mls to humber. So they stand a chance alright.
On rig tonight aswell as 4 others.one has yellow ring on they are trying to make it back west but weather still bad. see what happens sunday morning they might go if wind is down a force or two.
I have seen a few birds fly over rig this morning.Its blowing a gale from west out here.one has landed and is trying to fly west but keeps coming back.Its cracking blue hen yellow ring on ?
I am very sorry to here that. We have 3 sparrow hawks on rig at moment. last night when i was on shift i found feathers off 4 birds but no remains around rig.They were y/birds lost from sat race all nehu birds. i got one back to land on boat.but rest were very flighty and allways stayed up high.if they took to air gulls would drive them down.Then hawks arrive and picked em off. its bloody slaughter all right.
Aye tommy a spoke to him last night .blue hen was let off at first light. a hope she made it back ok its a cracker o a day out here.Very sad about the four that was left lads told me there is 3 sparrahawks and they have been pickin them off today. I will soon see as iam on night shift
Yes that right jim one of the lads on rig today was bird watching at cromar on sat and saw batches of racing pigeons flying north there was a strong west wind on sat&sun.
They are way up on legs to night no chance of getting up there unless i was spiderman.I was hoping i got a few tonight as boat is going back to yarmouth mid day.See what tommorow brings,
we have 7 y/birds teeside fed black year rings.they are sitting on ring legs they are very timid every time there is a bang they take to air only to be chased down by gulls.i will try and catch them tonight.
Quite a few doos on rig this morning most clearerd off.about three left all nehu rung birds.i have not catched this one yet but she is so tame she will fly to me shoulder.someones pet?
