Hi folks can anyone help me out and pick up a pigeon of mine that's in a ladies stable in loch Lomond area ? I am certain the pigeon was given to a Scottish fancier earlier in year but have not got access to the loft books at minute as they are in my partners house and his wife is away (partner passed away earlier in year) thanks Stan ps my number is 07913228296 and pigeon is with a woman tel no 07785943661

As a referee myself i fully agree with them going on strike as its offensive to say that the refs have been bias or even worse accused of cheating, the powers that be ought to back them to the hilt and maybe it would sort out the conmen, divers and cheats within the game who are vastly overpaid for what they do. As regards the claim that %80 of referees in scotland failed a test on the rules of the game what a load of rubbish as firstly there are no rules they are called laws of the game and secondly if you fail your annual fitness test and exam you have to step down a level at least so you would not be reffing at the top divisions, for my part now i am getting fit again and starting refereeing again i take no hassle off anyone on the pitch and believe you me word soon gets round and my games usually go off with no problems also my rules are simple swear at me or accuse me of cheating then its a red card and off they go and if this was implemnted at top flight level the game would benifit so much for it all best stan

Would You Recommend Gem Matrix?
stantheman replied to 0pensaysme's topic in Natural Remedies & Supplements
I use it all year round very good stuff i get a 5kg tub for about £8 although in some places its a tenner. Its not that expensive in the long run as you dont need to buy pickpots minerals or grit as its all in the matrix -
Whos Got Thye Best Proven Blacks In Uk
stantheman replied to a topic in Breeding, Strains & Families
bakes i have got some good uns, only bird on day twice from saintes, warks 2bird nantes club winner, and this year bred a black un for burton derby fed breeder buyer sale and it won it and its nest mate also won for same fancier and now i have had my back operation hopefully i am going to get racing properly myself again -
kane will make a good fancier of that im sure, but i need someone to be here at regular times mainly mornings when i cant walk, so birds have a routine and get trained regularly all best stan ps thanks for kind words re the birds
-
thanks for the kind words folks, if i dont find someone over the next few months i will seriously consider packing the racing in and maybe go into showing or cage birds all best stan
-
due to ongoing health problems i am looking for a partner to help me race the birds, there will be no financial contribution required and i will provide vehicle for training, i just want to race the birds properly again and be competitive all best stan

personally i think its got a lot to do with all the electro magnetic fields and signals from telephone masts as they are everywhere now and the use of telephones and wireless internet etc is on increase and has in my mind co incided with the increasing losses also birds of prey are an issue but cant be responsible for such high numbers missing from races

Klaus get yourself down to my house theres a few young ones just parted you are welcome to them as i have finished racing for the season due to my continued ill health and not being able to give 100% to the birds so have decided no more racing till after my operation which is happening in very near future all best stan -
Has anyone spoken to bakes recently ? i spoke to him after his first race and had a long chat with him about what he was going to do racing wise but have not see or heard from him since, i hope hes ok as he is a good bloke and is a breath of fresh air for the sport all best stan
-
Tommy all best for your first race today hope all goes well and you get good returns all best stan

cracking weatherfor racing today here in warwickshire blue sky and sun shining and not a lot of wind visibility is fantastic can see or miles theres no reason why the should not have good racing today, wish i had sent more instead of holding some back for the NFC next week

As your first aim is to get them home i would feed them as much as they want night before basketing and then would do same again on morning of basketing then remove all food at noon then give them a little seed before basketing to encourage them to have a drink all best stan
-
how fars the race ? and as pete says just concentrate on getting them home then you can build on that, so my advice would be make sure that they have enough fuel in the tank for the job in hand, dont send them hungry or racing to the corn tin, if you havent trained much are they flying well round the loft? because if there not you are asking for trouble all best stan

the birds need to be healthy fit and motivated to do well, what system are you flying? then maybe we can give you a few pointers all best stan

maybe that clubs do pay for rubbers but it costs the members whichever way you look at it just put boot on other foot and if a club had only one member on rubbers they would still have to pay for them and is that fair on the ets members?, the way forward is for clubs and feds to take the lead and get discounts for both ets rings and rubbers by bulk buying and passing the savings back to the members, i am sure deals can be done , as regards cost of ets rings i agree they are overpriced but until we the customer do something about it thats the way of the world im afraid, we either have to put up or shut up! its very similar to the petrol price scenario no-one is doing anything about the record prices but theres plenty of news items about it
-
i use ets at one club and rubbers at the other to save any hassle but if you do your sums over a couple of seasons theres not much in it! cost wise if i send say 30 a week x 20 races equals 600 rubbers approx cost £18 per season equals £36 then 30 ets rings costs £39 i know you lose some but its not a massive difference and no-one has mentioned costs of rubbers is also rising. it will sort itself out in time lifes too short to worry about a few quid just have one less pint fri and sat and you have got your money in your pocket
