I have 2 spare stock hens i am looking to swap 1 is a lbred 08 unrung direct from Kenny Hines stock loft i only managed to get her from Ken as he missed ringing her the other is again 08 bought from Bob McDonald again direct both are very lightly bred from and offspring have not been tested i am looking to swap for a Braspenning cock prefer a slate there are no peds with these birds as bob doesnt do peds and Ken wouldnt let me have a ped just told me she was from the best of his Fear bros Latin lines

Ive not got ETS ive not got stall traps but im more than happy for the RPRA to change the rule to put the pad anywhere you like inside outside on the roof

i know George & Maureen lovely people ive got the fear bros birds from them and Ken my advice for what its worth be patient with the fear bros birds they are full of character have a mind of thier own i find on return from racing they are a bit jittery and i always get one or two that refuse to fly with the rest around home and seem to want to go in opposite direction from the rest and get the odd one that will be flying for hours after the rest are in mine are all Latin lines

OH and me of course (wishfull thinking) LOL

I think you will find that any vaccine doesnt give immunity, but gives a small dose of whatever you are vaccinating against this enables the hosts antibodies to fight the infection so as to strengthen the hosts immune system to these foreign bodies and therefore if the host should be exposed to this again the antibodies are better equiped to deal with problem ,although the host will still get the sickness but not in such a severe form. So my guess would be that a good immune system & vaccination go hand in hand JMO

Just to put a different angle on this, the title of this thread says best birds not best fancier, now i would say look at a few things ie number of entrants by a loft and what % return from 600+ miles , also take note of age of birds how many times have these birds been to these races, ie i know of a fancier who has won these 600+ races at National level but more importantly is consistant year in year out birds of 9yrs old flying 700 miles birds flying Barcelona and a few weeks later flying from Marseille. The returns are probably higher than 75% in fact prob pushing 80 or 90%. There is probably a minimum of 15 orso birds in this loft that have been to Barcelona most yearlings would have been to Tarbes 550ish miles all 2 yr old and over will have been over 600miles most on more than 1 occassion not bad for a loft only about 18x6 in total no seperate yb loft So there are many different views on what we all believe

Thanks for nice comments guys the pairings of these isnt definate yet keep changing my mind who goes with who i would have been giving away the first round from these (as i have done for the last couple of years) but someone has already asked for them
