i totally agree,
if theres somthing your going to aim for as in: long distance birds to long distance. i dont think leaving distance birds & sprint birds to pair up will do any good for what you use them for. or even if you have a bird that always come last? would it be a good if it paired up to a winner??

at the moment, just trying to pair up a loft full of whites & near whites! mostly late breds from last year. been 2 weeks now & only 2 eggs (1 pair). but my original stock birds (putmans & kirkpatricks) they all have laid with no trouble.
it is a nightmare with yearlings & late breds though. (so confusing, tried hemp & everything))
oh well we will see. no rush :-/
stock pigeons as in breeding only, i feel that these should be kept if they breed good pigeons or to keep a pure strain going so you can keep the line breeding going, or to cross the one strain into another.
