My main family is the Gaby Vandenabeeles, which I've had good success with. Basically I want to focus more on this family in the near future, which means I don't see this cock being part of these plans. He is a lovely pigeon who breeds nice ybs, one or two have picked up minor positions. I do believe that I haven't really gave him the attention he perhaps deserves. Colin.

I'm surprised you have a blank week before the National Gareth. Why is that? We have the Scottish Central Combine race from Wakefield, which is 175 miles for me, so hopefully this will be good preparation for the National birds the week after. Colin.

For me upto 250 miles it has to be the Gaby Vandenabeele's.....unstoppable!!! I've tried varies sprint families over the years, but nothing can compete with these, and they've proved it again this year. At the end of the day, it's what works for the fancier. Colin.

There has been a few races this year where I've removed my pocket ETS clock after timing 4, 6 or 10 birds, where if I had left it in the other birds would have been positioned high in the top 20 of the Fed. These birds have missed out on good Fed positions. Hopefully I'll not make the same mistake next year!!!!

This season has been one of the best ever since I started racing pigeons, but today must go down as one of my proudest moments. My eldest son (Ryan aged 12) has been on trial with a respected Edinburgh Boys Club and after 'only' 10 days they want him to sign, which he will do so tomorrow night. Normally the trial period can be between 4-6 wks....to say I'm chuffed is an understatement. Breeding multiple Club winners, taking the first six positions in the Fed is such a great feeling but this tops them all. Perhaps one day he'll pull the shirt on for the 'Mighty Gers' Colin.
