Hastings in the Eighties was a controlling problem the pigeons were washed out with rain if i remember correctly.

I would like to know what the Benifits are for Racing pigeons from the WEST ROUTE into Lanarkshire?

Naebody said theres nae percys on the East but here in Lanarkshire we have had six races from the west and believe me theres plenty doos GOOD doos down the f tubes in six races.The truth is i canny remember EVER having such a bad OLD bird race from the EAST ROUTE EVER as that uttoxeter last week.

Theres no doubt an East wind has a bad effect on pigeons thats for sure but this west route has also a bad Effect on the pigeons.Four years ago Lanarkshire tried it! and what Happened? They called an EgM to get it changed back to the EAST,and i dont think the EAST WINDS had anything to do with it four year ago expletive remove.

This seems to be the Norm for most lofts and to say that its only your rubbish that you are loosing is CAVE MAN STUFF.

Yes your right they are everywhere but hey not in the same numbers as the WEST THATS A FACT expletive remove.

The message is clear stay as far away as possible from high Density Perry areas unless you want to f up your doos big time.

Read with interest colins column regarding the peregrine population in the uk.Once again he states a WELL KNOWN FACT that Cumbria lake District has the largest density of peregrine falcons in the world. Now i canny get my heed round how the F any pigeon fancier in their right mind would want to race there pigeons in that area it really baffles me and yet we here in Lanarkshire are doing just that and then wonder why we get a Stinker of a race from uttoxeter in an east wind which would push the pigeons straight through that area.The fact is pigeons have been reported from the four corners from that race THE SCATTER EFFECT. I think that answers a few questions.On wednesday this week myself and jim hannah liberated a good few hundred pigeons from elsrickle which is about a 35min toss to me. While the pigeons were making there mind up which way to go a peregrine Falcon went into them and took one watched by myself and jim hannah the batch of pigeons then broke into 3 groups 2 large groups and a small one and headed straight away in the right direction. Now when i arrived home i had only one pigeon home normally they would have all been home no probs but within an hour they were all home coming in ones and twos so i was lucky but some of my clubmates had them coming the next morning and thats only from 20 odd mile. The point i am trying to make is how many times is his happening on a saturday from hundreds of miles away coming through heavily populated areas like there is on the WEST ROUTE the pigeons have it hard enough without us making it harder for them Oh and i dont agree that its only your bad ones that you loose .

Widnae say that was a Disaster.

Good decision from the president and lets hope for a west wind next week to make things a bit more pleasant for the doos and us.

These guys pigeons left a few winners here in uddingston for a few different Fanciers Van Hees i think??

Uddingston & District 23 lofts sent 283 birds to woolaston with Lanarkshire Fed.

Had a pigeon reported in Manchester yesterday myself by a non fancier.It was sitting under a bush in her Garden.When i phoned her she had already contacted a local fancier who was good enough to go and get the pigeon but unfortunatley the pigeon was too far gone due to injurys sustained by BOP so the guy had to dispose of it.

Hey Alan Dont blame your pigeons the route is the huge problem.

Ive never known a race from 220 miles with Lanarkshire Fed with so many pigeons missing for many a long day. IMO this west route into Lanarkshire is a BIG MISTAKE. Ok the East Route seems to favour Certain Loft locations and thats a FACT but do we jeopardise our own pigeons to try and compete with fanciers with a favourable loft location???

I think 99% of Lanarkshire Fed Members will Agree with that.

Jamie I am very sorry to hear this, but unfortunatley Lanarkshire fed and its members will feel the effects of this race for the rest of the season.
