Paid £100.00 for a pair of Alf Bakers in 1982, The cock (The Kelly Cock) was 10yr old and I bred off him for 7yrs till I lost him off the roof and he was reported 60mls away six months later (at 17yr old) Got him back, paired him up, let him out again and away he went never to be seen again. His blood still runs through my birds today (a bit dilute now)

Congratulations Wings 04, how about a 'Squeaker' badge for Wee Wings

Did you get this one Wiley? Wings 04 posted it on the other Blackpool badges thread. 'CAN I GET ONE FOR MY BROTHER HE IS LIVERPOOLBOY ON HEAR HOPE TO SEE ALL OF YOU AT BLACKPOOL' How about one for yourself then Wings 04.

These are the latest names I received from Wiley, if you're not there and want one get in touch with Wiley, pronto. I don't want to be printing any after Wednesday evening as I am leaving at 8.00am Friday and I need to keep Thursday evening clear. Here's the latest batch: Paulo, Jimmy White, Maltese Falcon, Pigeon, Johnny 11, Bart. So once again, if you haven't seen your name in the two lists I've published get in touch with Wiley by Tuesday night preferably. See you all at Blackpool.

I am surprised to find live pigeons for sale on Ebay as they usually prohibit the sale of live animals apart for a few exceptions.

With the changes can we still win an international

I don't think DEFRA will sanction participation in planned mid-day libs in their present state of mind. Hopefully more relaxed restrictions will be implemented this coming season. -
You're correct Stuart, it is 61 and it is situated on the Olympia Balcony
-
Here's the winning pigeon from the Championship Show, raced and entered by Lee Willett and bred by Mr & Mrs Hoad, Woking

Here is the list of the badges I've printed so far Wiley, (I've Emailed you about it)and when you've processed the remaining requests I'll get them printed and post a list so that the members will know if their badge has been made.

I have just received a newsletter from the NFC outlining the whole Transporter saga and the reasons behind the decision to develop these state-of-the-art Transporters (EU livestock regulations) Hopefully future developments will justify the actions of the committee in providing National members with an approved means of livestock transport which conforms to future EU regulations. My only regret is why this open & frank report was not produced before the AGM.

Your Club is completely out of order Rockinrick, this should have been sorted out long ago. RPRA Rule 174 'Should any member of an organisation at 1st April be in arrears for any sum owed to the organisation the secretary of the Organisation shall send him a recorded delivery letter notifying him of the balance of his account in detail. The member shall be debited with the postal charges incurred and shall be notified that unless a remittance is received or the debt disputed within 21 days he will be suspended by the Organisation and reported to the local Region. the suspension shall be noted in the Organisation's minute book prior to the notification being sent to the Local Region' As you can see your Club has broken every aspect of this Rule and it is they who should be suspended not you. Sort this out with your Club Secretary and explain the predicament the Club are in and I am sure this will be resolved quite quickly.

I survived OK, Jimmy. Nice cup of tea and a look at the birds,( the chicken behaved itself )

I wasn't talking about the rings Roland, they're consumables, I was talking about the actual sytems. The only way to have any sort of a competitive ring market is for rings to be compatible but in a small limited market like ETS pigeon rings it's very hard to apply any sort of consumer pressure.
-
How did the ringing go Sean?
-
ETS is a the moment a personal option paid for by the fanciers who want it, if the move is to a chipped ID ring then we are to a certain extent making it compulsory ,as fanciers who don't have ETS (as a personal choice) will have to purchase the chipped ID rings for their younsters. As I have said before the cost of the systems will drop as soon as a second-hand market develops. Look at the T3, they were owned by a privileged few when they first came out and seemed very expensive to buy. Now they are commonplace in the fancy. As it is at the moment I wouldn't purchase ETS but I said that about the T3 and I now own two.

Me & the missus are staying at the Sutcliffe Hotel with the rest of the coach party from Pompey.

Here is John Good's set-up, as well as organising(and winning) the Milton HS shows John flies a good widowhood system and is very competive
-
Professional looking site Heather, well laid out and I liked the music. Keep up the good work, and may you have a happy and prosperous New Year.
-
The members I have spoken to in my Club are all for it, no-one has voiced an opinion against it. The cost of the rings may persuade fanciers to be a bit more selective in the number of pigeons they breed and race thereby affecting a saving in the cost of keeping and racing pigeons. In our racing last year birdage averaged out about 0.75p a race so it wouldn't take much of a trimming to recoup monies spent on rings.
-
Hopefully I will get down to the Common next season and get some more photos of libs and perhaps a short video of any large libs.
-
They don't know I'm out yet Andy.
-
I fly regularly in one local Sat club but I also belong to the NFC & BBC and I fly in the Hants 2 bird Ch. Club (a nomination club) I just remembered I also belong to a Mid-week club which has been dormant, but we're hoping to ressurect it this year.

I can assure you MadMaxlofts that the actual lib site is perfect, clear of any obstacles. If you look at the Portsmouth Lib site in the Forum list you will get a better view of how clear it actually is.
-
It's very big when you're on it Tammy, the birds have a 100% clear route when liberated. These photos are for any ex RN or Marines amongst us,No 1 pic is showing part of a redeveloped HMS Vernon with the Vulcan building in the centre being one of the few remaining Naval buildings, Also, Pic 2 for the ex-vets is Fort Blockhouse and the Diving Tower at HMS Dolphin Pic 3 is Pompey Dockyard (under threat of closure)and the Fareham lib site is at the centre of the picture at the top of the harbour (believe me) Pic 4 are my feet standing on the glass floor near the top of the Spinnaker Tower (it's a long way down)
