only parted my birds two weeks ago, i,ve not had any eggs for about nine weeks,to stop hens pairing i sort my pairs out before parting and then every two weeks let them run together over night in the boxes.i never have trouble with fighting or laying they lay when i won,t them to

best racer i,ve ever had never breed a bird to get to the first young bird race, he had different hens and i even held birds back and breed from them still the same.i had a young bird from two yearlings which was a mistake,she now has won me loads of cards

allways been natural, love the longer hard channel races.still had good sprint results as well

got a jack he munches cats rats mice frogs moles and hedge hogs if not watched

i have vents all round bottom of the loft, a wired ceiling and one third of the front from top down vented or open.i don,t use heaters or close any vents in cold weather.if i bred early then i would close down

always left young birds on natural light and pair if they won,t to. only because i breed late.

best year i had was with hens that lived in a 8x8 aviary only going back in the loft at night all through winter, wind,rain,snow and frost. loft was bone dry.

mick,i use beans alot one of best grains for rearing. club mate feeds 50% beans to old bird racers, last few years has won most races plus 3x 1st section mnfc

changed to a farm supplier six weeks ago, been using resting mix with beans and barliy.its half the price of top brands and the birds are exersising better

i personally have had no problems,my local branch have been very good with enquires and service, a couple of local flyers have had birds delivered dead but came from non fanciers who proberly did not the condition of them. a mate had one delivered with the box crushed but was alive

most sands you buy has a salt content which atracts dampness, that as you know causes problems with health.never use deep litter now just scrape out

westy i started racing at your age many years ago,you have got to ask questions about all things about pigeons,even if it upsets some people.i have had pigeons when i had money and when i have had very little( at the monent little) you can only keep what you can afford. don,t apologise mate. seen your site keep it up very good
