    FLYAWAYS

i know it still happens, but if their learn,t to come home when released instead of flying around home (some fanciers and me are scared of losing young on the first toss and delay training) have more chance of getting back from a fly away

    question

we brought a bird from blackpool 04 (an 03 late bred) never been out of any loft , so six weeks ago i thought ive had enough of shut in birds and let him out, he just went, four hours later he sat on the loft. now he,s flying an hour with the race cocks.

    Feeding Widowers

i only fly natural but always feed in pots in their boxes, bonds the birds to the box and used to your hands
  23. when i move the young birds to the loft i have a skip open on the floor so they can go in or out when they want to,i start training one week after they start roaming at 5 miles then 5 mile jumps to 30 miles. one new starter a few years ago took his young birds to the race point for their first toss thinking this was what was done,he only dropped one (70 miles)

    tic beans

bruno i think like some things in pigeon racing you stumble on good things by chance to suit your own birds, this is my first season where i can let the birds out every day in the winter. this is the best they have been for years but i,ll wait till racing to see if any benifit is gained

    tic beans

i have been feeding beans, barly and a winter mix since the moult finished, half the price of what i normaly use. the birds look and exersise better. first time i,ve used beans and barly for many years, this is due to shortage of money at the moment, may be i,ve fed to much?
