I know that the bops contribute to a certain amount of losses but I also believe that we as fanciers are also part of the problem with the amount of foreign imports that are brought in year after year and the home grown birds are being ignored because of these over priced super imports. Years ago when money was in shortage we bred off the birds that we could only afford usually bought at local sales for whatever reason, we swapped birds, we were gifted birds but we certainly never dreamed or could afford purchasing birds from the continent. We relied on our own home grown birds that were well climatised to our terrain and stood the test, not birds that haven't a clue what a mountain looks like let alone flying round one. Theres too much money involved in the "sport" now, years ago it was called a hobby but unfortunately the money side of things appears to have taken over. JMO
