  1. nice looking ybs mark
  2. A very good reply Tyson and certainly food for thought. I would certainly agree with you on the issue that the ruling bodies need to be doing more research into the problems that we are faced with today.
  3. We all knows what Alf means, it helps to allievate a certain degree of the problem.
  4. I know that the bops contribute to a certain amount of losses but I also believe that we as fanciers are also part of the problem with the amount of foreign imports that are brought in year after year and the home grown birds are being ignored because of these over priced super imports. Years ago when money was in shortage we bred off the birds that we could only afford usually bought at local sales for whatever reason, we swapped birds, we were gifted birds but we certainly never dreamed or could afford purchasing birds from the continent. We relied on our own home grown birds that were well climatised to our terrain and stood the test, not birds that haven't a clue what a mountain looks like let alone flying round one. Theres too much money involved in the "sport" now, years ago it was called a hobby but unfortunately the money side of things appears to have taken over. JMO

Doesn't matter about being off the pace John, thats a great result & 100% returns from a difficult channel race point and the main fact is that its ybs we are talking about hopefully our future champions Well done Mate !!

Pearse on here also timed a bird that he bred from birds he got from Jim last year. He won our club 1st & 2nd the only two birds in the club result. He also won the inland race from Tullamore.
  8. Just having a relaxing day watching the Grand Prix and tune into the football later
  9. I have to say that I visited Eamon & his father a few months back and can honestly say that whoever gets any of these birds will be more than happy. Two genuine fanciers with the birds and results to match and I'm sure that this was a genuine heart breaking decision to be made by Eamon. Good luck Eamon, i hope the fanciers appreciate the quality of birds on offer.
  10. I never got one either
  11. Having already purchased from Eamon & his dad I can assure anyone thinking of buying any of Eamons birds that they are top class and will grace any loft and a top deal will also be assured.
  12. Good article Bakes, interesting reading
  13. I bought a jan aarden cock from Bobs sale in Blackpool, I think it was around 2006? and it stipulated on the sale pen that the bird was jan aarden and not ko-nipius. This cock is breeding me good pigeons and has a tendancy to breed some ybs with feathered legs & feet like the old gits strain.
  14. Have to agree with Gail, for the price of a wing stamp will save a lot of hassle for everyone

  16. Absolutely pissing down here in the n/west of ireland
  17. As usual nipa show no regard or respect for the furtherest flying members in the n/west liberating pigeons at that time for a 500 ml race, absolute joke
  18. I'm sure you will miss him showman, RIP Joe.
  19. Willie, don't mean to be ignorant can I contact you in a few hours if thats ok. I'm really glad I was able to find you so easy.
  20. Haven't got it Willie, could you try and send me your phone number by pm
  21. I know its a crazy question with very little details. I bought a pigeon through the elimar site 2 years back but unfortunately it escaped before I got it to Ireland. Would any members have a contact number or know this gentleman, I know he sold pigeons on the elimar site but unfortunately I mislaid his number and would like to contact him. I would like to say that the bird escaping had nothing to with Mr. Donaghie as it escaped whilst be held by Mr. Dagleish in Dumfries.

  23. I have a yearling hen that came in with my ybs this afternoon on their return fron a training toss. She is from Dublin belonging to a Mr. Val Kelly and was flying from Bude yesterday and ended up here in the N/West of Ireland. Returns up here yesterday and today were very few with a North/northwest wind on their face and this little hen actually flew an extra 150mls++ to end up here in Derry.
  24. Still a few in the nests but they are for friends as I bred enough for myself (41) and I have also given about a dozen away already. I don't like too many young birds.
  25. welcome to the site Elliott, hope you enjoy and look forward to your posts.
