    Snfc Gold Cup

The Gold Cup should have 4 sections flying from 4 different racepoints of an equal distance liberated at the same time. 2 racepoints from the east and 2 racepoints from the west making it fairer for all as everyone would have a more equal distance.
  3. I dont know or have ever heard of anyone who has had Pigeon Malaria, but the person selling it is always trying to sell something or other whether it is a "new" system or a "must have" go faster product.
  4. M Patt of Ven Lofts used to have Barney lines at his stud.
  5. I had the same problem a few years ago in my old loft which was ventilated on 4 sides at floor level, centre and roof level. I had the droppings tested to identify the mould and it turned out to be Candida. It only cost about £10 at the time would probably be a bit more now but it removes the guesswork. The mould on the droppings was more like a mini forest, it is a fact that some grains are sprayed with a mould based product to keep other moulds at bay.
  6. I was informed yesterday(by anonymous phone call) that you already have a transport commitee to organise these things, so I will withdraw my offer and apologise if it seems I was stepping on anyones toes, I was only trying to help. In future I will keep my own council.
  7. The simple solution would be to go with another organisation, only a few days ago on another pigeon site one of the west cumbria feds offered transportation to anyone for this week, to one of their comeback races from Stafford or thereabouts. Earlier in the year there was a lot of scaremongering about the transporter running empty that never came to fruition as we were running around trying to get more baskets for the early races. However these things need to planned whilst forming the race programme so as to co-ordinate with other possible conveyors. I will not be sending to these comeback races as I am wiped out this year, I personally wouldnt mind trying to arrange something for next year Walter if needs be, if you could let me know the possible birdage.
  8. Lofts in Ulster had reports of SU birds in fours and fives, also a loft in Anglesey Wales reported having 3 SU birds in. Well done to those that were in the result.
  9. Blue skies with the odd cloud light west wind atb. CARLISLE.
  10. Lot 14-Paddymac- £50 please Ian. Thanks >>> Ian
  11. Apologies and thanks, to all donors and fanciers who were coming to the sale.
  12. The Childrens Cancer Charity Sale planned for friday 25th March at Winlaton Hallgarth Social Club has been cancelled due to unforeseen circumstances
  13. Steven,I wont be flying with any club as I am only a member of Eastriggs. I am hoping to get them in as trainers with one of the Carlisle clubs. Thanks Michael for your generous offer we can maybe do a swap you are welcome to come down to my loft anytime and have your pick.
  14. Walter, I, as you will probably know only joined the Solway last year. I am not looking to have my own way or jump on to any commitees until I have established my loft over the next few years. As I have previously flown to a disadvantageous position I know how disheartening it can be when you have been up with the winners but beaten by loft location.I am sure you will know the feeling, as I was not aware you were at Moffat. All I am saying is that something for everybody is better than everything for a few. Where my loft is located now is in a very advantageous position for my present club, as on raceday the birds seem to come over my loft from the north and I am the most northerly member. I didnt move their because of this but because that was the only place available at the time. I do not like having this advantage because it gives a false position to my birds on a close run race should I be lucky enough to be in the shake up. We all know how unfair pigeon racing can be whether it is location or the mob flier against the little backyard fliers. As someone once said you can never please all of the people all of the time but we could please a lot of people a lot of the time.I am only posting this opinion on what I have observed since joining the fed. Winning your club is good, winning your section, is better, winning the fed is best! Three chances for all not just some. atb Tom.
  15. I fly with Eastriggs Homing Club I race no more than 20 OBs and usually do not race Ybs. I for one will only be flying the first two OBs and then will be making my own arrangements after that, as I do not want my birds getting a line down the east of the country, as I feel that my birds race will be over from Scotch Corner. I know like a lot of others that the reason we are going east is because we did not go to the meeting and vote. I personally think that a lot of the problems are more to do with overfly ie; giving it and flying it at the same time. If there were more sections in the federation it would give a lot more fanciers an incentive to fly WITH the federation rather than going with specialist clubs to the exclusion of others.Who would it hurt if there were more sections NOBODY. Who would it benefit EVERYBODY. I can understand why fanciers want to fly with these clubs as they feel they are getting a raw deal in the federation, and in my opinion they are. What we need is more carrot and less stick. However this is only an opinion not a solution.I really admire such fanciers as Yeboah who are really stuck out there on their own but carry on regardless and he always has something poitive to add to any posts on this site, well done Michael. Please feel free to shoot me down in flames but as I have said this is just my opinion.
  16. Maybe some people prefer to keep their opinions to themselves and leave it to the experts to do all the talking and call people sneaks behind their backs. No wonder things are rapidly declining. Tom Linden 12 Mountain View Carlisle CA3 9SX. Mobile 07830 275757.
  17. Walter I hope I have not given you the impression I was having a go at you. I did not have all the facts regarding the clubs not wanting to share their baskets, Thankyou for clarifying that. I for one agree with you entirely and changes must be made regardless of personal differences.I know you work tirelessly for this fed and it is appreciated.
  18. As far as I am aware they wanted to join up around the 100 mile stage, Appleton or the equivalent,as the fanciers I have spoken to understood there would be very little chance of space prior to this.
  19. Walter,Correct me if I am wrong but did our fed not refuse an application from Carlisle fanciers to be transported along with us for the 2011 season. Tom Linden.
  20. I usually buy what I like the look of,from the family of birds I prefer. Pedigrees and handling are also the personal preference of every buyer. I have often got it very wrong and will probably continue to do so but it is all part of the pleasure and pain of pigeon racing.
  21. lot 1 £80>>>>>>>Thanks Ian
  22. lot 1 £50 >>>>Thanks Ian
  23. lot 7 £75
  24. lot 7 £50
  25. Many thanks lads, its not the cost that hurts, it was such a cracker and some of my dreams left the loft with the pigeon,I am sure you will all know what I mean. However, if you never feel pain you never know pleasure!! Fingers crossed.
