Have you spread the breast feathers near the keel and looked at the color of the flesh/skin? It should be a nice rosey pinkish color in a healthy bird. You don't want to see a somewhat darkish blue/purple color.

Just a few pics for you guys. I was taking the pics myself so they didn't turn out too great.. but you get the idea;)I even threw in a good old Gurnay in the second last picture.

Whereabouts are you going in NY? I'm way on the west side of the state... not very far from Niagara Falls. If you're in this neck of the woods it's good with me... that is as long as I haven't decided to run way down south to get far away from this frozen tundra by then! haha
