  6. As a new fancier i like the sound of racing both cocks and hens i will only have room for 12 cocks 16 at a push what i want to know how many hens will be needed to race along with the cocks ? what happens if say i lose a couple of hens would that not effect the cocks that are paired to the missing hens having no hen to race home to or are you meant to have surplus hens incase this happens thanks

so next year is going to be my first be starting with young birds hoping to have around 40 how would you go about your first season if you stated again ? race the full program and see what is left over and buy extra in if things dont go to well or race all to say 200 miles then save for yearlings or should i just take each week at a time and see how the team holds up. posted in wrong area lol

  18. i had pigeons when i was around 12 years old the guy next door raced them i used to jump over the fence on a saturday to watch him time in then in 1987 i got my own house with the lass im still with built a shed and kept a few pigeons bred a few youngsters with a view to racing in 1988 then my other half became pregnant with our first son and pigeons for me had to stop we where both 20 and a baby meant goodbye pigeons.now the guy i used to watch back when i was 12 i have been watching time in again this y/b season and that burning desire to want to race pigeons is now back although it never really left just brining 3 kids up over the last 20 years has meant i have had to wait a little longer anyway that my brief story of why i want to race and keep gods superb creatures that are homing pigeons.
