Walter used to have the Caledonian bar in carlike and that was where most of the members of carluke flying club went on a Friday night after basketing, & on a Friday during the off season. He also donated trophies, to be competed for. I also met Mark McManus in the pub as he and Walter were friendly and mark used to drop in for a refreshment after he'd been to the trotting at Lanark.
