No worries
i could tell you a funny story about it when we thought your birds had it and we tried to get stuff to treat it incase we got it to lol but ill keep it for another day

My birds had salmonella according to the avian vet in Cumbernauld.
i was sure billy told me it was clamyidia a well wrong again
-
thats one of the reasons i breed latebreds it gives me something else to do in the winter months training them up also enjoy our we nights at clarkston club for the shows and a blether with the lads its a good wee night what with that work and building lofts for mr mguire picking out his doos to beat me in the show not got much spare time and if i have i go look for something to do and always find something before the wife does lol

bang on frank he's got his Cline wrong one of the biggest problems with yb losses I believe because the length of the time to cure 28 days or more the silent killer
well if im wrong the vet in merry street in motherwell is wrong also frank thats who told me m8 but ive never had it that i know of me and billy reid tried to find out about it when your birds had it and thats what the vet told me and also if a fanciers birds have it the fancier needs to be treated with amoxycilin also as it spreads to humans with contact with the birds scary stuff
ps been told doxy works to
-
for one eyed cold optrex eye drops work fine one drop in the eye for three days clears it up
for avian chlamydia amoxycillin is the cure

thanks george the more the better

aye its no fun pal gettin old is a bugger just done building a new yb loft with 9feet by 7feet one inch thick sheets and all it cost me is a hernia and a walk like the hunch back and still got a 24 footer to build for jim really looking forward to that lol

anyone with unwanted birds pm me thanks
-
put your methods up ian we can only try it m8 we might learn something as i have tried everything i know and still get it with early bred yb and latebreds raced and unraced but always just after i vaccinate them thought about not vaccinating the latebreds till start of next season but then you risk full blown pmv cant win and prevention is always better than cure in my book

happy birthday duncan

cem that,s bit sarcastic,it was just a suggestion from walter
very good cem i to give to cancer also but it dont help the ybs problem no wonder the doo games f k d with no one willing to help themselves and my magic potion as you call it does not cure ybs nothing does that was the idea in trying to get something started to try and get the right people involved to find a cure but maybe you have a better idea

i have been convinced for a few years now that young bird sickness has a connection with the vaccination procedure my reason for thinking this is before we started vaccinating our youngbirds youngbird sickness had never been heard of in scotland im still trying to learn what the connection is or indeed if there is one i also think the disease has mutated over the past few years as what cured it before does not cure it now at one time the birds if left alone came through it in a week or two with no treatment now if left untreated many birds will die i would like to see our governing bodies shu rpra and others getting together and using funds that are wasted on c p like raptor alliance being put to getting some lab and not one that rips us off with cures that do not work to try and find a cure for this dreaded disease or maybe our basic members could donate a tenner a head to get a fund started and try to solve a problem that rears its ugly head every year im willing
-
Many years ago no one needed to vaccinate there birds and young birds still had the same stress of training & racing no one had heard of young bird sickness then if you had a couple of young birds throwing up most put it down to sour crop and a charcoal pill or Epsom salts usually did the trick, I think after many years of blind preventative treatment of birds we have now got birds with little or no natural immunity to disease

are you saying you do not remember you and i trying to hatch a plan to get it from the doctor after you told me frank had been told that his birds had clamiydia and i called the vet and told him a club member had it and my vet told me the treatment was amoxycilian and it would cost around 80 pounds for the treatment and id went to my doctor to try and get it i hope your not saying you dont remember this as i told loads of guys about me going to the doc to try and get it at the time and the doc telling me to come to the side door to see him as it was very infectious and us having a laugh about it come on man infact im sure i told a few friends on here about it when it happened no ones trying to get at anyone here billy only stating what the vet told me the treatment was and how it came about but if your saying you dont remember fine with me and im told doxycycline has amoxy in it so whats the problem
