    The first annual show for racing pigeons under the suspices of Newtongrange Local Homing Society was held on saturday in the Lothian Hall, Newtongrange. There was a large entry, and competition in the various classes was keen, M.Alex.Forrest Aberdeen, acted as judge.   3. All club secs were sent a letter asking to give feedback on gold ring. 2 bird club. b/buyer and fed dance only 2 clubs replied one not intrested because they run own 6 bird club everything was scrapped due to lack of intrest
  4. Had the chance this year plus the 2 bird club no one wanted it only 4 members from Newtongrange & 8 from Easthouses Intrested

    1905

    A series of three young homer shows has been held in Newbyres Hall monthlly for a silver cup presented by Mr W Walker. The judge for the three shows was Mr Anderson, Edinburgh. In the last show , which was held on saturday , there was a total entry of 61 birdsand these were devided into the following classes:- Red or red chequered class, 21entries- 1.2&4 Smith Bros 3. Smail ; v.h.c,Learmouth; h.c.,Juner Bros , Second class black or blue chequers,entries 22 - 1 Junter Bros 2&4 Smith Bros 3. and v.h.c,. Smail;c,. Junter Bros 4.and h.c Smith Bros; c Hogarth&Smail, Middleton carried of the cup with the total of 58 points over the three shows . Smith Bros were runner up with55 points and were awarded a medal. Junter Bros Followed with 47 points and Learmouth with 27 points . Special prizes were awarded to the two last named.

This society held a race from Berwick upon Tweed on saturday , A distance of 57 miles . 31 birds were entered with the following result -1&3 Alexander Baxter 2 David Carson 4 David Carson 12th May 1892 The members of this society had the last race of the season on that route from Newcastle on Saturday only 9 birds were entered 1 James Reed 4 hours 35 minutes 2 A Baxter 3 T Knight

  14. The annual social meeting of the members of this society was held in the Ship Inn Dalkeith; on saturday evening. After a substantial supper . a pleasant evening was spent a number of songs being rendered by those present . Mr T Millar . who presided at the gathering . intimated that the expenditure incurred from the 1st February till the present had been £3 5s 3 1/2d and the income £3 11s 6d . Leaving a surplus of 6s 2 1/2d to the creditof the society. A&J Smith

  18. Bonnyrigg- Eleven birds belonging to members of Bonnyrigg District Flying Club took part in a race from Cambridge on Saturday . The pigeons were liberated early in the morning in fine weather . A bird owned by E Murray' High street Bonnyrigg;was first home . TIME 10hrs 24mins 53secs. The distance was about 300mls
