Well, once again, another extraordinary day in what are truly extraordinary times. I’m sure you’ll have seen that the government has announced that from 21st March, all pubs, clubs and restaurants are to close their doors. Whilst this is unprecedented, it wasn’t unexpected but has resulted in our club breeder buyer sale being unable to proceed. For 2020 ‘Pigeon Basics’ have kindly allowed us the on line facility to ensure we proceed with the sale / competition. For this year : - It will run from now and finish at 21.00 on Sunday 29th March. ( anyone not a member on pigeon basics is welcome to contact club secretary who will ensure bid is placed in your name ) All lots have a stating bid of £20 Single youngbird / £40 for Lots as pair. This year 80% of monies raised will be paid out in Breeder / Buyer prizes over the Youngbird race season, with the rule as per previous years that once a pigeon wins a Prize it is no longer eligible to win any further prizes. ( This rule has proven that prize money is better distributed over more members ) Members of Pentland Hills / Trapain and East of Scotland Federations are welcome to enter. ALL ring numbers must be submitted by 19th April. The 26th Danderhall RPC Xmas race , has attracted an entry of 248 Birds ( increase of 48 ) entered by 30 Lofts ( increase of 3 ). - Prize money = 248 entries @ £5 = £1240. - 20 Cash prizes - Winner £500. - Race to be flown on Saturday 21st Dec from Morpeth.

Danderhall RPC are providing the opportunity for all members of the organisations that participate in the annual Xmas race (i.e. Pentland , EOS , Midlothian & Trapain) to take part in race from Ypres on 6th July ( in conjunction with SNFC ). Members of SNFC: Race mark pigeons as normal with SNFC and complete additional entry form for this race: On entry form all pigeons entered pay £1 entry fee with all money going towards prize money. Non SNFC Members: Race marking at Edmonstone inn on Thursady 4th July between 1500 – 1600Hrs Only. Pigeons race marked here pay £3.50 birdage (to SNFC) and also the £1 / bird entry fee again with all the £1’s going towards prize money. In addition to the £1 entry fee support for prize money has been provided by RBS. ( Prize money announced once final entry is known ). In addition a Free One bird Yearling nomination has been sponsored to all participantnts And the 1st Nominated yearling will win £100. Entry forms available from Danderhall & Traprain Secy’s. Note: Pool / Entry form must be submitted to Danderhall Pres or Secy by 1200hrs – Friday 5th July. Non SNFC or Members sending through Danderhall please advise numbers to ensure appropriate baskets are provided. Copy of ETS/Clocking slip must be with Danderhall Pres or Secy on day of checking. Many thanks to the individuals that have e-mailed me with pre-sale bids for our Young bird sale on Friday evening. At time of writing £620 has been bid across various lots. I will ensure the bids remain confidential and ensure that the bids start at lowest Level and only increases to the bid pledged if someone else in the sale bids against. Note to members – No money will be collected on night of sale. All purchases must be paid for by 24th May. All Ring numbers of birds to be submitted to Secretary on or before April 30th to compete in Breeder / Buyer competition.

The Annual Breeder / Buyer youngbird sale will take place on Friday evening, April 5th after the presentation of prizes to 2018 trophy winners. Details of race(s) / Prize money will be updated after the sale. A Raffle will also be held with various prizes including a Youngbird Bred by W.KINNEAR & SON.
