beautyhomer GO RAIBH MAITH AGAT MO CHARA Irish (THANK YOU MY FRIEND) why the big thank you well as you know I'm collecting racing rings for jack (Don and Yourself to name but 2 were VERY KIND) but as ring collectors its very hard as you well know to get rings from Africa, Middle East, China ,Russia and countries like that a few weeks ago I put up a thread "I hope this answers any concerns" in it I said I don't sell rings never have never will but I also said that I HAD bought jack rings from ebay well I did see the rings in question (fake rings on ebay thread) sent an email asking the guy if he would do a deal for a batch of rings from different countries before this thread went up SO YOU HAVE SAVED ME MONEY (that was a lucky break) so again GO RAIBH MAITH AGAT (THANK YOU) and to the fanciers who from time to time may see threads from members like beautyhomer Don or myself asking if you have any spare rings you could sent us PLEASE REMEMBER if we receive them from true racing fanciers and hopefully friends we know we are getting the real deal so to ALL of you who have helped TRUE ring collectors (we dont SELL RINGS) and especially those of you who have sent rings to jack GO RAIBH MAITH AGAT (thank you) and please please don't let stories like these put you of helping collectors who are also true pigeon fanciers JUST LIKE YOURSELVES mick

hi Paul I'm very sorry to read what happened to you but that's life its sad but there are ass***es everywhere that said this is a great site and great people MOST are very good and there is ALL sorts of advice some different from others 10 years ago I broke my spine and now I'm unable to work 2 years ago I had my first grandchild jack after visiting a friend (Bill) jack was bough out to see bill's homers jack loved the birds my friend bill suggested I get a small loft build for jack and myself as an interest for us both I said how can you tell a child to keep looking in the sky your birds are coming bill said get fantails so that's what I did the loft is small by racing standards it 8x4 we have garden and show fantails but I'm breeding crossing the garden fantails to the show fantails the difference the garden fantails are like homers HEAD UP IN THE AIR watching the show fantails HAVE THEIR CHEST OUT HEAD BACK TUCKER UP AGAINST THEIR TAIL so they don't see a lot and makes them easy for cats that's why I'm crossing them hoping for a fantail head up but a full tail if you check the members photos on the left handside I think its under a thread called small city lofts you will see some small lofts and birds you will even see some of jack keep the head up don't worry about the clampits on site the important thing is enjoy your birds we do every morning jack arrives its granda granda I'm took by the hand and straight out to the birds jack gets a small pot of corn sits down on his wee stool and the birds all come to him feeding out of his hand he loves it and I love to see him happy it takes me (with 2 plates bolted to the spine ) about 5 minutes to scrape the loft and do the drinker honest that's all and its great for jack and me if you decide you want fantails give me a shout I live in Belfast but I'll breed you a pair and you will only have to pay to get them over that said I would be very surprised if you decide you want fantails and put a post on the site if someone near you doesn't offer you birds best of luck and remember enjoy whatever breed of birds you go for that's the MOST IMPORTANT THING slan Mick ps please check http://pigeonsincombat.com/film.html send Al an email and let him know that you know jack http://www.pigeonjournal.com this is where I got the idea for our loft but I made changes to suit us http://www.redroselofts.com/starter_loft.htm Mick

CHAIRDE FRIENDS as you all know I have been collecting racing rings for jack in the hope that when he's older it will be a good hobby for him to grow up with collecting rings and having your own fantails I think will be a great start for him and who knows maybe he will decide he's going to race one day (homers that is NOT his fantails lol) I have been sorting his rings and going through the German rings I have noticed over the years the different inside diameters of the rings why is this A pigeon legs getting thinner B just the manufactures trying to save money on smaller rings C as suggested BY GANGSTER to cut down on the weight when racing

I believe road racing cyclists shave their legs and carry super glue in case of an accident they simply super glue any cuts and get back on the bike

i was hoping for some thoughts on WHEN i should move the nest-boxes

got an email today with this it maybe of interest to some Hi All, I received my packet from Dr, Michael D. Shapiro, PHD at The University of Utah today. This is a study that may turn out to be the ground work for something that should have been taking place a long time ago. If you are not yet involved please make the time to get involved. All they are asking for is samples (feathers) from your birds so that DNA can be extracted for their study. If you would like to help with this study it will cost you nothing but a little time as included in the packet is postage for covering the samples being mailed back to Dr. Shapiro. How important is yet to be determined but it is important. CHAIRDE FRIENDS after reading "I hope this answers all your concerns" you all now know about me breaking my spine see attached photo of my x-ray but heres my latest problem (I'm sure all of you who read my posts say that's all he ever has is problems and your right but that's why I come here lol) as you can see from jacks avatar our nest-boxes are at floor level great when your 2 1/2 like jack and his height but to be honest they are just not working for me getting down to the bottom boxes just causes to much pain so I have a notion of ripping them out and putting them on the back wall 7'6" high and 4' wide should I A move them now (I have birds on eggs/chicks) B leave them for a while (until when) if I moved them now will the birds go down again (how long) will they stay with their same partners (could I put different cocks to hens) as we only have 1 loft and no room for another moving the nest-boxes make sense for the pain and it will make it easier to partition the loft for splitting the hens and cocks thanks for your thoughts mick

that jack OK i dont open his mail thats his job but granda has to keep a close eye on him as everything goes into his mouth and nanny wouldnt be to happy if anything happened to jack as my 2 daughters say if your names jack or nadine you can do whatever you want just a pitty we couldnt send the daughters back and keep the grandchildren lol only joking the 2 daughters see to the loft when we are on holiday i wouldnt be without any of them
