no hawk problem hopefully solved by not having birds here for a while now i will let them out in a day or to and see what happens will let them out a couple a day slowly building up but the came in ok so not to worried about them now spoke to the fella i got them from and he has said if i want he will keep them there breed from them and i can have chicks but i would racther get them and try break them here and breed from them the 1's that returned to him is a real nice bird and good preformer so i am going to collect them 2moro will keep you guys posted on my goings on and when i figure this out i will upload pics of the birds
-
ok phil will keep them on a feed routine will start it today and keep this going and after a fortnight i shall start letting them out 1 at a time and also by then hopefully they will be down on eggs aswell Jimmy
-
i am sorted now my birds were all new to loft they only came 10/06/08 and 12/06/08 and on 14/06/08 some idiot let them out i was lucky this time managed to get them all in and hawk not here anymore so that a blessing or it would have had them
-
this is what i dont understand why not give them a chance and if i had 1 come here i wouldn't be able to destroy it even if owner told me to i think its a disgrace that people are willing to kill their birds for making 1 lousy mistake why not tell the person who it visits to feed it and then release it the next day and see what happens then or is that not how it's done and would the owner keep it or bin it on return anyway
-
Cheers phil was real chuffed the 1's that came in last nite i let out 2 day and they picked up the final 2 of them and they all came in fine i used to leave loft open for birds to come in and out when they wanted when i had rollers before i found it ok but when i got racers i had them on routine till the hawk strike so i will be waiting for all to go down on eggs and in to a regular feed routine small feed in morning about 6am and then about 7pm usually would let them out about an hour before feed time and hopefully i shouldn't go wrong with that Jimmy
-
