couldnt tell you who goes to our fed meetings , there usualy decided before you turn up to vote , and in past it was the many Hull clubs with fewer members that got most of the say to the detriment of the clubs in the north , thats why a New Fed was made , because they were ruining our fed when they all ready had both north road feds and south road feds now thats just greedy and selfish

lets hope for a fuel shortage and a good harsh winter ;D ;D ;D ;D ;D ;D

i think if any of the R.P.R.A committee are over 65 and retirement age then they should not hold a post , also a very good point why doesnt the regional secatarys job get advertised each season ?
-
there will always different opinions and people that wont get on with others and if they cant win in one club they split and form another , as a new comer you would think that we are all wanting to race our birds that much is true but some wont fly amongst the best , each town could be divided into sections to allow for disadvantages in overfly ectra but you would still get the odd one or two saying that its unfair ectra. Amalgamating clubs into marking stations would reduce the small clubs and would be the way forward , but the breakaway clubs wouldnt want it as they like it the way it is

i think it would end up with the channel been split in to milages and you will probably be able to choose which point you send to as a individual , and baskets / birds be transfered before they go across water on ferry creation national racing , as for most feds transportaion could be shared and birds be put up in sections as the U.N.C do , if the Unions did any running they could sort this out but we are still at finding the flint to create fire in pigeon racing terms

if its never a sport ill still do , it if i couldnt fly for money i'd still do it , if it was banned i'd still have my pigeons , nothing would stop me doing the thing i enjoy the most

they would have to comply if it were a R.P.R.A rule
-
well i think the biggest problem will be stray returns , all unions should make all transporters carry a stray basket , i put my strays in a box with transporter driver and hes more than happy to help them on there way , as for buying birds well id make sure if i was buying i had visited loft and would be happy if not eager to bring any new pigeons to there new home ,

in the current financial market with rising fuel costs and negative growth housing market at a stand still , i cant see anyone want to make amtrack an offer as they will no doubt be in the very same position , i guess this will become common place , my father inlaw lost his job as a delievery driver for another firm just because his route had become no longer viable and they was loosing money , welcome to the start of a recession

Is theer going to be a future for pigeon racing so
OLDYELLOW replied to bluepiedcock's topic in Racing Pigeons
i think a few of the doom and gloom merchants need to get the sandwhich boards on and write 'the end is nigh' on them and walk around town , they be laughed at , im very optomistic about the future of pigeon racing , probably one of the most taken up activitys when people retire , yes people work and thats a deterent but ets will help a few more back , the last thing any new starter needs is to look at these type of threads and think bloody hell may as well get the latest console game at least they'll be able to buy the games for them , as for one loft races taking over it will never happen . Theres a few types of fanciers theres the ones that are in it purely for money and to line there pockets and theres the get rich quick via one loft racing due to the prestige it could bring and win big bucks , and theres the one's that loves there pigeons and the enjoyment they bring whether on top or on the bottom of the game . Those that have lost there heart for there pigeons arent fanciers there senders of pigeons i suggest that the latter are the doom and gloom merchants , and yes i do know of several clubs that will go to the wall because of lack of members but im sure theres solutions for the remaining members , such as flying with a nearby club , even if it means just flying for federation honors -
