Just a thought , as Paramixovirus is flu like , it may have had the ideal conditions to spread i.e damp and humid weather that we all have had this season and last .
-
too far for my young birds Picauvaule would of been better , good luck to those who sent
-
Jimmy how about a locked page purely for the new couriers to have there details on ? just a thought

Louella stud does vaccinate there birds but as there not to be released in another country theres no need to vaccinated till you intend to mix them with other birds , as each consignment is contained in there own box i imagine that to be ok , but if intension was to release in another country then to cross customs they would have to be vacinated
-
all i can say is this if fanciers get Paramixovirus through not vaccination , that in its self will be a lesson learned , as its a nasty disease that will break your heart , if your birds arent worth vacinating there not worth puting in a basket in the first instance . Im sure there are such people that do do this but if unions made club vacination compulsory then this wouldnt happen as it will be only the odd one in a club and sick birds would be soon spotted via basket and it would be beyond comtempt to send such a bird to the club at basketing never let alone to a race

rock doves and ferial pigeons are conditioned to the elements hence why there feathers are tougher than that of a racing pigeon , if your birds were open to all the elements all year round in a avairy most would perish the others that would survive are surviours by nature , nature naturaly suppresses disabilty and sick and ill birds and animals , not the all the fastest speed merchants of the sky would survive , but to some extent speed would be a survival asset to keep away from preditors

had birds since i was 4 years old grew up with them raced since 1990s, im not deluded im a realist your theory wont work try paying tesco £10 to deliever all your shopping for the year they would laugh and so am i what a ridiculous idea ;D ;D ;D ;D ;D ;D ;D

well done pigeon tracker if you can team up with others to form a network you will sucede i wish you well in your venture , read post for similar couriers to network with

As for how long i have done this is the last 4 years so hundreds of pigeons N.E.H.U and S.U have been taken nearer home as for believing in fairys if you think for one fee for all season would work and not be abused by the few to spoil it for the many then it is you that needs to look at your idealist fairytale beliefs, as for aguing i have never shouted to get my point across , and to point out that your idear is badly thought out and unmanageable , most fanciers will travel to get there birds back , i have in the past and im sure i will in the future , i have lost a total of 7 birds 2 training and 5 racing all young bird season , had any of these been reported i would of aranged there return at my cost , if you cant afford to loose them or have them reported in the first place they should of never been sent .

paramixo is doing the rounds i quite agree , but all pigeons on a transporter are vacinated all race birds are vacinated , so if it had a ets ring or vacination stamp or rubber on its leg then it would be deemed fit to travel , and who would put a sick bird on a transporter in the first place ? as for injured pigeons they would have to be returned via a courier as would a bird that doesnt know where home is that hasent homed to it , as for saving myself money if i thought for one minute your suggestion would be indeed be viable then i would support it 100% , i already return and collect strays from my area as i did the other day for Johnny of another site , last Sunday a basket of N.E.H.U were returned , on my visit to Billy Wilson off this site i took a Goole bird back with me then sent it to Hull and returned to the fancier the fancier rung Billy up and thank him and myself for my efforts. I have sent a number of strays back home , one i got back week after i sent it back rubbered but ill send it back again . We can all help in a small way , and i am helping and will continue to do so . p.s Sunderland is 86 miles north of me and i charge nothing
-
no need to shout les if young birds couldnt fly they couldnt get lost in the first place , i never had any feed back re strays back to studs , but most studs birds cant see out to know where home is so i would probably say none
-
theres a cheaper way wont cost a penny every transporter to have a stray basket , job be a good un
-
and also if stray returns they could simply ring with fanciers rings or transfer before there rung on the birds leg , there are too many flaws in your idear / ideal
-
Studs are paid up members and as such should benifit from a service to all members if they wish to take it up , otherwise it would be deemed as discrimination
-
what could be done other than a new courier joe ?
-
ok les tell me and the others on this site how that would be possible ? and surely the big studs would benifit from this oppertunity as well then it would fail due to the high demand , you cant burn one candle all year long

silvers or choclates or grizzles or a very light blue checker should produce yellows if the cocks are yellows

Missing to pick up corn etc
OLDYELLOW replied to 0pensaysme's topic in Help - What's wrong with my bird?
see a vet , vacination for paramixovirus is a must as its been doing the rounds this year -
small eyes and the occasional red eye = which is the equiverlent to an albino ( these albinos are completely blind ), there best crossed with reds which intern produce alot of chocolates then back to a white or silver based pigeon to produce yellows
-
i have yellows in my birds but i try not to breed them as they can have a few problems when pure , but there offspring can throw yellows
-
http://www.yorkshireaa.co.uk/index.htm but no prices ?
