new response from Bricon :
It is not correct to state that a lot of pigeons return without transponders from races or even training tosses. I myself never lost any in the 8 years ETS in Belgium (with a minimum of 100 pigeons each year). Also a pigeons transponder that is no longer entering races can be used again on another pigeon. With fixed transponders these benefits will disappear. Another reason is the compatibility, yes there is a compatibility between the systems. But all systems work best with their own making. This is normal, an antenna is optimized to perform as optimal as possible, other transponder brands can have other variations. BRICON is always willing to participate with improving the use of ETS, that includes some customized features for the Unions. Don’t forget that the discussion of adding the transponder to the life ring has been going on for 10 years and the conclusion is still that a separate transponder is the best option for the Fancier.
