  1. normal box 28 x 14 mine are 2 ft x 14 plenty of room when shut in together , have blocks to go on front yet but am going to see if workable without first
  2. the section is 8 ft x 6 ft so theres a 4ft x 8ft floor space left more than enough and i can stretch my arm out from front wall and not quite touch boxes but very managable
  3. great post Roland and very true
  4. privacy covers http://www.everythingforpets.com/widowhood_privacy_cover.pet/use.id.5.item_id.962.dept.202/
  5. privacy covers are a piece of plastic that clip over the fronts this will stop the flytes from getting snapped like a traditional style widowhood box , but the hens will have there own section as they wouldnt be keen enough as would constantly know there cock was so close
  6. not if you put privacy covers over during week
  7. and the other reason is can get 6 cocks at top , pigeons dont like the bottom boxes so as well as saving my back im actualy making them happier
  8. Pm Kirky off here i think hes going , and he went last year , and we dont live too far away either
  9. shadow and i got it sorted
  10. cafeeine is a stimulant but not a band substance or a drug
  11. health will help performance , but drugs increase performance totaly different
  12. when drugs are so readily available and people wish to cheat to achieve there goals , then birds should be tested , and those that dont use drugs to enhance there performances would welcome this better to remove all doubt from those that point the finger , than to put up with rumours of the few that cant win against the top flyiers , perhaps if these fanciers spent as much time looking after there birds they would get to the top as well.
  13. when garlic is processed it looses most of its good propertys better to use fresh
  14. i very much doubt they will be a shortage of birds at Blackpool for sale they be birds from over the pond and many breed the year before with Blackpool in mind , and theres the few that breed and not race so they'll still be selling what they have.
  15. there only yours when in your loft
  16. the yellow gene i believe is a faulty gene between two colours red a white white been a lack of pigment and the yellow been a faulty pigmented red indeed yellows will bred both whites and reds the reds more chocolate but the yellow gene although not visable / dominant is carried by birds it breeds like silvers and silvery reds
  17. yup yellows would be hens and silvers also hens but reds and blue chequers be cocks
  18. better luck next time Alf
  19. how many had you sent out to go in it Alf ?
  20. fair point then just looked a bit front heavy but a full feed will do just that , be nice to see when has an empty crop , but a nice bird no doubt about it
  21. but there physical attributes are selected and not there racing abilitys , but your right most would probably race i'd like mine not so front heavy tho
  22. mine will do 500 miles on the wing show racers will do that back and fourth in a basket
  23. show racer
  24. silvers would be more likely but you may get as many yellows
