  7. Wally Pope had lovely yellow Grooters which would win , alas hes no longer with us and you never see any advertised or in results , a few Yellow kirkpatricks have won, one a few years ago won if not topped UNC , My Old Yellow cock won 1st and 2nd Bourge 512 miles was 2nd as a yearling 1st as a two year old plus was 6th from other 3 channel points two years on trot plus 4th wanstead flats , Kirkpaticks and the other strains arent in strains anymore so less end up in results , the yellows can have alot of defects with there sight and shape of eyes or albinos which have red eyes and are blind so not a colour i've ever had great favour for however i can breed yellows without these defects by not pairing yellows to yellows , i tend to breed far more hens that are yellow than cocks and racing widowhood i've no need to race the hens very few yellows about now that can actualy race i spent thousands at a big stud aquiring my Kirkpatrick family and whittle them down just to a few winners which i bred around , due to moving about havent had much time to put into the birds but these will win again , they won me combined adverages first year i flew widowhood and highest prize winner in club , and channel adverages year after missed one yb race and highest prize winner in club , i have retain my lines and these are still in my current loft they've won for others up to 3rd fed in Ayrshire in Scottland and have topped section for me and been 6th fed not just pretty but reliable birds

  10. still waiting for mine from Blackpool :'( :'( :'( :'( :'(
  11. should read a Jim Donaldsons pedigrees it would give you an idea , states if you want to win a national buy birds that have won a national or around them its ok saying you have winners its the ones that are passing there genes to next generations we need My mate had a young bird via Ken Anbys Pau winner crossed with two different pairings bred two cocks both won 3rd fed 420 miles Lerwick in turn i have had birds via the two 3rd fed winners, 1 yearling cock 3 x 3rds up to 524 miles , but if you read a Jim Donaldson pedigree it reads more like a who's who of Scottish national racing

there wouldnt be enough salt to kill it and if hungry will certainly eat it , they only have a certain number of strikes before they've ran out of energy , most salt be on the feathers not on birds skin bops dont eat feathers :-/ and also what damage does this do to the pigeon as can be absorbed through the skin ?????

    why do i bother

i seriously cant see lard and salt doing anything to deter bops , salt if very high amounts will kill any living thing , sparrows and other small birds are fed lard seed balls recommended during winter months well there should be plenty around they eat the lard , only mix that works is lead at high speed

    why do i bother

might be worth while in having a kit box of tumblers out at same time as they'll be easy prey for bops maybe these could be salted
