Have always thought of not racing yearlings and just racing them as 2 year olds if had the room I'd certainly have a go with it saying that I had a hen season before last just put loads of weight on never got it off so she didn't race only kept her to keep her cock happy then year after clocked her at 512 miles .
Well I think we have pretty much covered everything in this Q&A so all that's left is to Thank Lee Buddle for sharing his take on Long distance Racing , and may you have a great 2012 racing ahead , on behalf of the members thank you :emoticon-0137-clapping: :emoticon-0137-clapping:
very true , I chased a spar of from a blackbird I was unsuccessful she just picked it back up flew a bit further where it was safer , must of been some size to pick the dog up , but flew in to house seems to point towards a tame bird
I believe they have gone bust a good friend ordered Sputnik sides off them many months ago he couldn't contact them through there phone number or anything , I actually put it on site as he said he didn't want others to get caught out as well .
I think it's more of a case of hunger , rapidly depleting loss of small prey in the area , but I wouldn't rule out a captive bird that's been released or escaped
Although feel sorry for the pensioner , this is actually good news as more and more people will see bops for what they are , them trying to attack a dog shows that there is a lack of suitable prey for them so hopefully a nice harsh winter may knock more than a few of them out
Have you made any introductions of birds to add strengthen to your stock this year ??? and which fanciers birds would you like to try in the future ????
Do you look for birds with a certain wing beat ???? And what do you consider to be the best wing condition for your type of racing ??? and when would you consider the wing state not to be good ???
