I have registered a domain name http://www.cpeb.co.uk (Campaign for Protection of European Birds) today. What is now needed is information and sugestions to put on the web site. Remember this is aimed at the protection of birds, not just pigeons, that way we will get better support from the public.

most of his strays arn't cought they are taken there and any members taking birds there should be suspended!

I understand that a couple of years ago somebody payed him a visit while he was out and released all the birds from the holding loft, damn shame, but couldn't condone it of course!

The RPRA currently publish leaflets to hand out for information. Depending on how long the story is, detailed or brief it may be that the RPRA or other unions could be enticed into paying for printing/publication. Alternatively could we apply for funding from Blackpool to get it printed? Keep typing David and we'll see how long it is. Phil

We have had an offer of web hosting which is fantastic thanks. This site gets a lot of new people, fanciers and non fanciers who find strays so it must be coming up near the top of web searches, would it not be better or an idea to create a section on here for promotion as we have a ready made traffic stream already?

Open hole normally leads to neighbour problems and while your not there you don't know what your birds are doing! They do excercise more, up and down all day but can also go fielding, sit on roofs etc etc

Its info like that bigda that needs to be on a web site for the public to see but need a short to the point name for the web site

Just think about keeping it as short and sweet as possible, that way the public may remember it when seen

I believe under defra rules the driver of the transporter must have a copy of vaccination form for every pigeon on the transporter!

although it sounds harsh Karl, they are only going by the rules that defra have impossed and can't afford to be seen breaking them. #Phil

Ok, to set up a web site you need a domain name, i.e pigeonbasics.com! When you have a domain name you can buy web space to build or have built a web site. Once thats done you can promote it through search engines like google etc Phil

haha, Chris, maybe members could come up with sugestions for a domain name and we can search availability. i.e www.mspp.co.uk (Members Society for Protection of Pigeons)

Chris have a look at www.1and1.co.uk There you can search for a suitable domain name to start with and you can build a site on there if you don't have something like frontpage etc.

Another good idea Spin Cycle, with web sites they need to be fairly large and regularly updated to keep them near the top of search engine lists. Richard will prob tell you more.

Chris I can also do any photo's you want. There must be somebody within the sport who either works for a PR company or has a relative/wife/girlfriend etc who works for one! Surely that would be a good starting point because we may then have a headstart by using somebody who knows what a pigeon is? Phil
