    stock question

Yes, keep breeding from the stock until you prove them one way or the other but as Wiley says also try swopping pairs around or Bull the cockbird.

    stock question

If i was trying new stock for the first time I would breed 6, race 4 and keep 2 back. The 2 kept back pair into your racers the following year and race the youngsters. If neither the children or the grandchildren perform then look for something else asuming your methods are good etc.

    wing

nothing seriously wrong if its flying 1/2hr but leave it to rest over winter and see what happens in the spring, if she is lagging behind the others then there maybe permenant ligement damage, if so then stop her before you lose her!

  14. they do look like homers or could be tippler crosses
  15. its just the last sentance that makes me laugh, it just leaves the door wide open as normal with RPRA rules!
  16. a lot of use natural products to help boost the birds system which will increase performance.
  17. Anything we use to keep the birds in good health, including water could be deemed to enhance there performance as aposed to giving dirty water!
  18. extract taken from the current RPRA rule book!
  19. Yes, but the last sentance just sums it all up! Do the vitamins, B12 etc that we give our birds enhance there performance, I hope so, isn't that why we use them?
  20. (SEE RULE 199) PERFORMANCE ENHANCING DRUGS/SUBSTANCES 1. These Rules are drawn up by the Council of the Royal Pigeon Racing Association under the powers granted by virtue of Rule 199. 2. 21. I enjoy both racing and showing getting as much excitment out of both. Race days you sit expectantly in the garden getting a real buz when a bird shuts its wings a head for the loft, at shows its the same excitment waiting for judgeing to finish to see whats won. Phil
  22. Only if theres nobody looking
  23. Chris they are far from all the same, head size, keal length, frame size all varies. 20yrs ago they were very big, very bold heads etc, then they started to get smaller, sharper faces to suit racing judges but they have increased in size again now. Phil p.s If i'm judgeing any of the big shows come and steward, you'll be amazed how they varie!

    is it red mite?

Red mite are easy to see, look under nest bowls, feeders etc and you will see them running around. It does sound like you've got something living in the joints of your boxes so I would give them a thorough spray out with something like duramitex. Phil
  25. what colour are the young cocks Terry, at a guess, all blue based?
