  2. I can see your point about why do people stamp them but firstly its a rule, although there are still many that don't and secondly the sport has a bad enough name now with the general public, how would they feel if they've got to keep the bird for days/weeks while the owner was traced?
  3. not everybody is prepared to bin birds for others. Sometimes it depends on the owners approach when claiming a bird or receiving a phone call that determins the outcome! Be polite to the finder and its suprising how many will try to help, often people know lorry drivers etc but if anybody gets my back up when i report there birds then they can pay for return. Phil
  4. its probably also a result of your pampering and heaters etc, birds are becoming softies, don't fancy there chances on a hard race.

    while breeding they are on 24/7 in the breeding lofts, not on currently in the race lofts until winter so i can feed them in the evenings.
  7. nothing nicer than sitting with the youngsters and letting them walk over you! But if I went into mine looking like that they would run for the hills!

  17. if you are looking to build a race team, forget about funny colours and get birds that can win for you from consistant fanciers with good performances.
  18. can you make a gap at the back just below roof level?
  19. you need air flow to keep the air in the loft constantly changeing. Idealy you need air coming in near the floor at the front of the loft and exhausting at the top in the back of the loft to give you a basic airflow.

  24. I know this sound daft, but easier to keep them clean than have to clean them!
