  4. :) happy birthday richard :) have a great day, but keep up the good work ;D ;D :)all the very best, you deserve it.
  5. i think nowadays fanciers are breeding far too many ybs per space,[ which i have done in the past] but found it very strange to count the ybs left at the end of the season, is allmost spot on to a half to one cubic metre per loft [ strange]
  6. i would say pink elephants, if it was prooved to be good it would be well used by now
  7. the main thing is for the distance is fuel in the tank for the journey, and breeding
  8. i think the birds racing north rd and birds racing south rd would be racing at differant heights ie opposite winds, but theres a lot more to it than that as theres feds racing e to w and vica versa, would it not be possible to take turns ,ie week about, just a thought on these difficult times.[, things may even change yet, hope not]

    Flies

:)any one tried ordinary fly spray, birds dont like it, but thats just for a minute, even sprayed under the nest pans,, at least theres no beasties there :)
  10. their room mates on truro cathedral, but not so daft ,they leave every morning and go for fanciers birds, they reckon hey keep the cathedral ones for their larder, in case of difficulty,,,

  13. more cash for rohnfried, not saying the stuffs bad, but do they really need it?
  14. my likes are to see two big plump ybs in the nest with the parents hardly looking like feeding young, and the droppings as firm as marbles [slight exageration :) but i think you get my drift] :) dislikes, awkward yearling cocks > > >

    prob

to race top quality birds, you need to have top quality ybs, without the least bit flaw. you can repair this to a certain extent , but in my experience its really not worth it. i know this sounds a bit harsh , but i can only give you my honest opinion, and past experience, good luck to you anyway.

  19. happy birthday :)
  20. my saddest memory was loosing" 11811"he had won 8 races inc, scoring in national won a lot of positions, was eventually lost ifrom sartilly ,the same racepoint he scored in. but im afraid thats pigeons for you [wasnt thinking that at the time]
  21. many, many thrills in the past ,,but the one that will allways stick in my mind was when the escc was on the go [there were more birds sent to that ,that go to the nationals nowadays]anyway in winter 1967, my father went on and on about" the old meally"it had scored from christchurch that year, he repeatedly went on all the time about this bird will score from 500 miles, unfortunately my father passed away in april 1968, i dont know how, but i sent the bird for him,as that was his wish, well to cut a long story short the bird duely obliged, he was 4th open in a very difficult race from avaranches, winning 98pounds 2 shillings and 9 pence, i still have that result yet,,,,great memories.
  22. am i right in saying that jed jackson "blind flier" raced the pau national winner ",genista"from a good distance north, before sending it to pau, south ,and winning the race.
  23. being well ventilated , snowy, i should say about 25 birds
  24. how many fanciers will be sticking to the pigeon vet david palmer,[and many more]about, the ammount of ybs to the size of loft.i.e.one half to one cubic metre per bird depending on ventilation.? i,e, a loft 6ft high 6ft broad, and 12 feet long, which is 2metres times 2 metres times 4 metres equals,,,,,16 pigeons or if exeptionaly well ventilated 32 pigeons
  25. i see you are an 11 tear old girl, but youve asked very sensible questions, the main thing at the moment would be to make sure the loft is dry and plenty fresh air, and off course clean water, and youll find youll avoid a lot of complications, and of course youll learn as you go along, good luck ,,,, jimmy :)
