  1. I guarantee the game is finished unless we act. I reckon from Moffat up to Lanarkshire, its so densely populated with bop it makes the sport a lottery.
  2. Aye George, he was actually more than one in a million m8.More than a million ybs have been bred in the west section since the last Gold award winner That's how hard it is
  3. Oh, I never read that bit,
  4. Cheers Eddie, decent gesture but ive got about 24 g children of him in the yb team m8.ATB Thanks for yer kind words lads
  5. I believe that I had one of the best distance cocks in Scotland. His name is Spider and he had flown the channel 7 times. If I was allowed in my original SNFC section, this pigeon would have legendary status. He would've won 3 x 1st, 1 x 2nd, 1 x 4th, 1x 6th section F, SNFC from six different channel races ranging from Falaise 520 mls to Andrezel 600 mls.He would have 2 x Silver Awards and a Gold Award. One of these 1st sections would have been 2nd if my friends J & J Hood were in sect F . However, in section E he won 4 diplomas and his Silver Award, missing the result twice by a short time. He was 3 times in top 12 section and 100 open. Considering the area I fly into and these positions this wee doo has put up, I would say he was a legend alongside the other champions frequently mentioned in the weeklies. I was forced to send Spider this year to try and get his Gold Award but the worst has happened, he was my only loss from Wetherby, 3 weeks ago. Gutted is an understatement, its been like a death in my family. Fingers crossed my wee doo returns some day. ps. I wish very good luck to all the fanciers who have doos going for Silver or Gold awards, especially J & J.Hood and Gareth Rankin going for Silver awards this year, 2 cracking pigeons that need recognition. Incidently, Spider would've won his Gold Award by competing in 5 different channel races.Has this ever been achieved before?
  6. http://www.bbc.co.uk/news/uk-scotland-glasgow-west-22846749 Hope the pigeon fraternity don't get the blame for this.
  7. The east is f kin torture too, but I can almost guarantee the SNFC convoy was obliterated by 100s of BOP. Ive 4/7 home, 3 of the 4 are hawked and 3 missing ( possibly hawked too) that's nearly 100% being hawked down the west.F kin terrible state of affairs.
  8. im telling ye lads, there wont be a sport in 3-5 years with the BOP growth.
  9. Your worse than Hoody for trying to get yer photo taken, lol.
  10. Its true m8, I reckon the pigeon game has 3-5 years left unless something is done, IMMEDIATELY.
  11. Top hen making ye look good lol. Well done big yin
  12. Well done Davy, good season yer having m8, keep it going.
  13. Dal, the damage is done from the Solway up to here. Toss yer doos at my loft in Glasgow and see how many ye get back on the shift m8.
  14. Spot on m8.
  15. Well done Jim. Also, a wee shout out to ma wee pal Barry Minaugh, this is his first year flying obs. Not a bad start bud, well done.
  16. Well done Gerry m8, good flying
  17. Just went through my 4 pigeons that I got back from Newbury. I was unaware 3 of these have been hawked, I thought it was just 1 who got ripped apart. Two have lost a couple of tail feathers so went unnoticed until I checked them over. This pigeon game is becoming a complete lottery with these birds of prey. I have at least a dozen in my loft that have been nicked by these bandits during the season. Now, every single loft is getting hit so how many strikes are made on our pigeons on their journey home. Flying down the east was bad enough for birds returning cut up but this *expletive removed* west route is even worse. Still, the majority will sit back, *expletive removed* pu zzies
  18. Mine are the same Alan, except the one that's been ripped to shreds, hes still very sore. Our birds are running the gauntlet up through them hills, its a lottery.
  19. Ye don't know me , not one pigeon leaves my loft unless it is prepared, fit and healthy to do the job its asked to do.I stated before this race that my chances were very poor ( never before have I sent to a national with this view ) as I had old stagers going for a stretch in preparation for Tours and the other 3 had ??? over them. I was proven right on both points. Regarding the wind up, yes most is banter but not all.
  20. expletive remove That's brutal, in a tail wind too. Why do you race that way ?, the furthest you can go is 200+mls.
  21. Budgie racing, yer welcome tae it kiddo lol.ps. Even if my name was Gibbo I couldny of got a good yin yesterday with the sh it I sent lol.
  22. Just spoke to Gordon Grant, the winner of last years Newbury and he has 4 Alencon birds to come.He timed a yearling cock I bred at 12.39 ( he sent 15)so he is well chuffed. This cock was unraced as yb. I reckon this race will not be on the SNFC calendar next year.Too many good pigeons being lost for some unknown reason.
  23. Ive got a 7 year old cock that has been across the water 7 times, Alencon, Falaise, Tours, Bourges, Niort, Clermont, ypres. He came back this morning ripped up the front and missing half a tail.He was limping and clearly in a lot of pain.If experienced birds like these are being ripped to shreds by BOP ( especially when they usually know how to evade percy), what chance has the pigeon game got. The birds rattled into the Solway but were stopped from Moffat up. The poor doos mustve taken a real hammering by the BOP. *expletive removed* LOTTERY COMING THROUGH THEM HILLS.
  24. yer not alone m8, plenty of top doomen failed to time and a lot of top birds amiss. These races are becoming a game of chance.
  25. itll be a lier market special Mick. Probably belongs tae Uddingston fancier.
