  4. good question!!! anwser is yes!!!! most people just dont care when they let out at least you had the intelligence to ask, it just wouldn't be very fair on the guys who are hoping to time early birds, best not have any distractions. best of luck everyone thats racing ;D

  7. yup ur dead rite..... i also said dont inject anything that you dnt have to!!!!!!! :-/ and as you just stated you have to inject for paramyxo
  8. WOULD NOT RECOMMEND INJECTING FOR ANYTHING YOU DONT HAVE TO. inject for paramixo(not correct spelling) if ye wana treat for paratyphoid then i think parastop by "deweerds" is the best around it also does a couple of other treatments at the same time and it goes into the drinking water, for worms give an ordinary de-wormer. would also treat for canker with bs from deweerds ;) best of luck wotever you decide ;)

    Training.

for the last few weeks my birds are doing between 30mins 70ins around the house depending on the wether ie north/south winds, today i decided to give them a very short toss....only 10 min flight to the loft!!!!!! surely to god 10min on the wing wont do them any harm..... considering they're flying round the house for a hell of alot longer! woud love to hear your thoughts on this. thanx

  21. My questions are these: Does anyone see any problems getting the birds to home to a large box rather than a loft? Would it be OK to house them with a hen fantail that does fly out and come straight back? Can YB be trained to be hungry so they return promptly or do they need constant access to food because they are still growing? What age should I get them and how long before they become strong enough to fly? sorry to be a complete novice - any advice gratefully received!!! Lee 1, not really a problem but not ideal either, each to their own but woudnt be me 2,regards the hen fantail yeah that would be perfect u'l hav the youngbirds in an out in no time! 3,never let the young birds out when hungry if the get into trouble so to speak then they will go into another loft with no hesitation, always make sure they have something in the tank 4, 25 to 28 days old would be grand not to strong but when u get them lock them up for 3 to 4 days so they can adjuet to their new surroundings...... hope this helps but just my opinions maybe u should get a bigger loft dnt know to many men with boxes that keep pigeons an win
  22. yes i also heard this but i believe they must be very very similar to each other almost identical so if the sire had 2 daughters(say a blue an a check) an the sire been a blue then i believe he is best suited to the blue hen but as i said she must identical an he must be a top performer also!!!!!! this is just something ive heard an also believe myself
