We have lost 6 birds to the sparrow hen already and the season not started yet. Last weekend a mate at the back of our loft lost 13 birds to a mink that got into his loft. We got it next morning.

I alwasy stamp y\birds as SHU rule. We also report any strays that come in and made a lot of great mates when reporting birds. We also have a folder with all birds reported since 2001. is it a rpra rule that you must stamp old birds as we got some in last year not stamped 3 of them from scotland, 5 from england.

Hi PIGEON-MAN WE USE ETS AS DO MOST OF THE CLUB. YOU CANNOT PUT A LIMIT TO HOW MANY CAN BE CLOCK AS YOU PAY A ENTRY FEE FOR EACH BIRD SENT. SAYING THAT MOST OF US DO WHAT YOU SAID IF LUCKY TO GET THREE ON THE DROP. WE TAKE THEM THEN THE POOLER IF NOT IN THE FIRST THREE.ALSO THERE ARE MEMBERS STILL WINNING IN OUR CLUB WITHOUT ETS SO ITS THE BIRDS THAT WIN NOT THE CLOCK. ALSO ON THE ETS THEY TALKED ABOUT A 10 SEC PENELTY ON ETS BUT COULD NOT DO THAT AS YOU DO NOT GET TIME TO CLOCK YOUR BIRDS. YOUR MEASUREMENTS ARE FROM LIB.SITE TO THE LOFT NOT UNTILL YOU CLOCK THE BIRD IN. JAS.

Hi Ray we have tried both widowhood and roundabout the latter is what we fly with a lot of sucess. Both cocks and hens winning. JAS

Hi Speedbird we pair up on Boxing day rear a round of y\bs, but when the cock stats to look at his hen again take one y\b and the hen and place some shavings and straw on the floor of the y\b loft. Put the hen and the y\b on the floor and once all the hens and one of their y\bs are in the loft you will be amased at the hens going about feeding any y\bs. Once the cocks have reared the other y\b move them into the loft. Give the cocks & hens a weeks rest then pair them all again this time you should have them down on eggs at the same time and a setteled loft. After sitting 7 days split them all at one time and they are ready for training.We train ours out to 20mls before we start to show the hens. When we train the cocks back to the hens we let the hens go 20min. before the cocks. next day the cocks go first. the only thing is you need someone at the loft to lock the birds lib. first in the boxes. Hi Speedbird Try a some Y40 in the water you will be suprized at the result. My mate had his birds looking great droping good but birds just not doing the biz. I told him to get some Y40 three days in the water and he was back in form. Y40 is for yeast in the crop. Speedbird if you still have a few weeks to go give it a try you will see the diference. JAS.

Hi just a update on birds for sale . after talking to my brothers we have decided to book a hall and have a sale later when the birds are through the molt.This is mainly because with work just now and the wife not taking the wright phone numbers i have missed a few calls.All those that did not get me i am sorry.Those that i managed to get back to i will let you know where and when the sale will take place.
