one more my 1st year racing proper i got the last 3 club glod rings. this pigeon was also a breeder buyer bird it was a hen thought it was a cock went with the cocks every week. it was the last bird home every week after having the clock read most weeks. the race was weymouth racing with the old west pennine fed and the lancs combine the race was over 5 hours for 207 miles i think. this bird come 1st back went to the club thinking i was behind buy a hour i won the race buy 21 min and won the fed think the bird was 6th combine and won me near £700 the cash was will needed at the time ha

i had a young hen won five young bird races on the trot in 1998 this one hen was sitting from the time me and fellow club member stamped my birds at the start of racing untel the end of the young bird season. glad i had a witness to prove she sat that long. i met the wife the year after i loaned my stock birds to my mate a 100% novice i used pair up for him and help him out 2 sons out of that hen won 15 1sts between them plus 2nd lanes combine. this lad did not have a clue. i got all my and his birds back in 2002 a gand doughter won 1st club rennes over 300miles as a young bird the year after a son of her won 4 1sts as a young bird in 2003. the hen that won the 5 1sts was breed from a Houben stay from a bloke called Brian Green from Brighouse near bradford. sorry if went of topic a bit

i had my best young bird season buy training twice a day my mate used to pick them up in the morning and take them to work with him they slept in the baskit all night. they got a 20 mile toss they were back for 10-11. they were back on the club trainer for a 35mile toss i won every young bird race that year but 1 and the south east lancs fed avrages. from the 22 birds that i did it with i lost 2 all young bird season they went as fare as rennes with the lanes combine what i think was 310 miles to me. i had to move that year so i put some of the birds in the stock loft and breed winers from the start

i am new to the forum i used to race up untel 2003 had to stop due to pigeon lung twice in a year also add it in 1992 with 3 long stays in the docs. i want to start racing again but from a aviry or open loft ive been told your the man to ask for any advice would be gratefull. i used to race the young on dark and the cocks on widowhood with good results but i dont know how this can be done in a open loft. i would not mind going for the long races but dont want to be behind in the others thank you
