  1. well done JSTOON,excellent advice............
  2. more than welcome ,glad to help," wear gloves tho" ;D ;D
  3. pjc i agree with you regarding establishing a team with desired type/body & constitution,& therfore admire you far having built a family the type required...but as we both know that takes years to get to that point... i merely stated a method that can be used ,goes without saying the need to seek correct body in first place & a method than can be used in pre show prep to enhance that .....as in w/hood racing to cleanse bird bird to prepare it for protein mix,to produce muscle in readiness to return as energy on race day . but we all have different methods & approach's ,so long as it works for individual fancier ........
  4. i agree with you to a degree when it comes to constitution & aiming for uniformity within the team, but as each bird is an individual sometimes requires that a different approach be taken with particular bird , & if done correctly the breaking down & building up routine is one approach, unless of course i have been doing it wrong for past 30yrs both showing & racing as has doug mc'clary !
  5. pick the new leaves situated top of plant, there free so get bag full, put them in an old pan or something & pour boiling water on them leave to stand o/night ,drain water off & pour into drinker .....reportedly good for us as well ( stinging nettle tea),tastes b***** awful tho ........
  6. ;D aye you & i both at 1 time or another tam & probably not concerning pigeons.. :-/...but try wearing gloves ;D
  7. one method is similar to preparing for w/hood racer .....after show on return ,gradually break the bird down ,using depurative, then when next show due gradually build it back up again with protein mix as you would a w/hood cock , some have to be fed individually in n/box as with all some greedy & have to be fed accordingly to prevent fat ,others dont eat enough so the reverse .... hope that makes sense & answers query ....
  8. same as some of the others ,once birds settled together & cock crouched in corner ,calling hen ....put bowls in ...........
  9. used johnsons for years & never found fault with it,stood the test of time as well... if for any reason run out & wait for stock to come in .....i use stinging nettle tea as a stand by found thats good for birds also............
  10. thats true on both counts & all stem from the wolf ............
  11. cracking loft & birds mate ,love the open land at back loft ....fields & hills ,( heaven )......good luck with all
  12. well liz wot ever its called i've alreay got the best 1/2 ,( lab )

  14. labdoodle are said to have best qualitys of both breeds & very popular as guide dogs, thats why they crosse the 2 breeds intentionally,as as already been said don't shed hair, but true they are asking silly money for them .........

  18. glad to see the art of romance aint dead ....tam,.... :D
  19. Happy Valentines Day - ladies-
  20. as chickadee say wheatgerm oil is very good for fertility problems ,( contains vit E) have the pairs in question been allowed to mate properly ,i.e. cock treaded hen ,succesfully ,as opposedto bieng harrased by other cocks ....if not that will result in clear eggs ........if they are bieng harrased ...lock all pairs in n/boxes & let 1 pair out at a time for 1,hr till lay & then they can mate ubdisturbed by others .
  21. i have used them for years now ( not rsl's )tho, find them ideal, labour saving , birds always clean,as has already been mentioned run a brush over them daily .........
  22. liz,try vapona bars or strips ,suspended from ceiling ......deters both moths & flies
  23. apple cider vinegar & cider vinegar are same .......can get it from any health shop &most supermarkets asda/tesco sell it ,useed it for years ratio 2 capfuls per 4 pints water once week .........
  24. no dont think it is,baking soda ( bicarbonate soda) is what they mean, get it as said ,tesco/asda..... cut a sliver of that garlic clove & shove it down birds throat.....that will clear watery droppings in 24hrs .............but suggest you act fast
  25. are the birds droppings very watery??,along with the other good advice already given, try popping a very small sliver of raw garlic clove down it's throat.....
