edinburgh weather was relentless lastnight! the wind is still going strong! the loft floor is soaking, window shutter blew open during the night. rain was heavy. was down there at 6 oclock this morning moping the floor!
i wouldnt mind if my birds were interested! if i wanted to catch other peoples bird i would have got pouters!
there are lots of doomen he can fly against in the area who would be greatful.
i dropped a white doo earlier! ha ha
i put my fantails out...5minutes later he puts doos out! they fly over the house and land on the house roof, the fantail goes down to the loft roof and the doo follows. then the doo goes away.
its just a pain in the back side! theres plenty doomen in my area who would like to play his game!
theres a guy up the road who flys pouters and he keeps trying to catch my fantails! the birds dont show any interest in his pouters, why wont he stop annoying me! even his pouter doo was on my loft roof. my fantails were not amused! nice doo it was though.
the bird wasnt going far all day untill the cat appeared! it just flew between some houses and i couldnt see whare it went.
the brown fantail didnt want to go out so im gunna try it tommorow.
im new to pigeons and would like to know why people use fantails in their racing loft? are they used to lure the birds from the sky or just for showing off?
thanks for the replys!
the hen is an 07 and the cock is an 04. is the hen not mature enough? i have extended their daylight hours and added wheat germ to their feed. the cock is interested but the hen doesnt look too sure of him. im 100% positive that its a cock and hen. ive never saw them tredding, would this normaly happen on the first day?
i got my very first pair of pigeons on friday and would like to know how long it takes for them to pair up? i set up a nest box with a nest bowl before i put them in my loft, they have been in there for 5 days and theres not much going on.
is it best to lock them in the nest box together or let them free fly around the loft. so far they have been flying freely inside the loft.
