long time ago ;D when my brother was racing on his own , he had to work one sat and left me to time in the birds! well i got bored and thought the loft looked a bit of a mess ! so i decided to paint the loft a nice bright yellow !!! was really pleased with my efforts but when the birds arrived !! they all sat on the tree and never came in till the next morning. when brother came home it was me that was hiding in the tree.

we were 1st in first race in new club 280+ birds we had 26 away still 4 missing first bird was a yearling hen but the widow cocks were half hour behind????

LETTERS TO THE EDITOR BHW PRESS RELEASE/WEB SITE Dear Editor May I reply to the outrageous letter in last weeks issue from the Welsh region of the RPRA. Which stated that they had decided to not grant an open race licence for the Europa classic one loft race! Firstly the Europa classic one loft race has never applied for an open race licence from the RPRA welsh region nor does it ever wish to. Secondly Europa Auctions has conducted business in the pigeon world for over 25 years, buying and selling birds, producing and selling specialist pigeon video films, conducting auctions and indeed owning and running the biggest one loft race in Europe. None of these business ventures have ever been licensed by the RPRA ! We are however licensed/registered by the customs and excise VAT trading standards various trade bodies IAPPR etc etc bodies that are the fit and proper place to register/license business’s. Which the RPRA Welsh region is not. As a business we have invested over a quarter of a million pounds in lofts, transporters and land to achieve what is todays Europa classic. Now if the welsh region thinks that we are stupid enough to spend all that and let them or anyone else decide our destiny, without being liable for their actions in law, or to act in a reasonable and professional manner taking decisions only for the right reasons and only with good reason, they are sadly mistaken. We are running a professional business, that abides by all the laws and best possible business practice. Thirdly all that said and done I don’t care what the welsh region wants to do, as long as they don’t deliberately try to beesmirch the repuatation of the Europa classic race, or Europa auctions, the only possible reason they could have had to print what they did last week. Was to in some way to try and defame the race, and try to put our customers old and potentially new flyers off, by inferring there was something wrong with the race by refusing to licence it. Despite the fact we have never asked for the race to be licensed! However for the last 5 years my pigeon club has helped with the race mainly in the field of entertainment, food and beverage etc, and as a courtessey to the RPRA, they haved applied to the region for an open race licence. Just to keep them involved and informed really, essentially to say they are not running a business just providing fellow pigeon flyers with entertainment, food and drink and into the bargain they as a club have made a few quid, without involving the tax and vat people. Because they are running a private event for their members anf gusets only. Without going into to much detail what has happened in previous years is New century flying club obtains an open race licence, offers a package deal for their services to the race, and then Europa auctions offers them a franchise on the race, every body is happy. However until the franchise is granted usually in June All the new century club has done is get an open race licence for the same date as the Europa classic, after that they put forward a package to us, then if the deal is right for us, we offer them a franchise. If the deal is not right for Europa auctions, The club don’t get the franchise and I suppose they throw the open race license in the bin and lose the £5 it cost them? Untill we make that offer the new century flying club can not use our trade name, and the RPRA can certainly not say they have refused the Europa classic anything. To be absolutely clear Europa auctions Europa classic race, has no direct dealings with the RPRA welsh region what so ever, they only deal with the New Century flying club among many others the RPRA is just a third party Who deal with the new century FC not Europa. UNLESS WE GET AN IMMEIDATE RETRACTION AND APOLAGIE FROM THE WELSH REGION OF THE RPRA WE WILL BE TAKING LEGAL ACTION You have been warned ! On a personal note it really does sadden me that the people who are supposed to be running the sport, for the good of the sport. Can behave in such a way, from what I can only imagine is for reasons of spite and jealousy as they have offered no other explanation to the new century flying club, who are just trying to provide a very good service and make a few quid along the way. It could have been so different god knows I have tried. I even donated 50% of the auction proceeds from the first Europa classic which amounted to a tidy four figure sum, to the Welsh region RPRA. All I asked in return was that it be used to promote the sport of pigeon racing, for the youth of south wales, and to let me know how it was used. Well I never did get told what they did with the money, And have not heard anything about the money I gave them, since I decided not to give them any proceeds from the second race or subsequent auctions OR PERHAPS THAT’S THE PROBLEM ! Bottom line is if you have entered in the past you will make up your own mind !! If you have no wish to enter or never have stop scare mongering other fanciers who may wish to. if you have any doubts phone or email them.

I have recived an email from derek nicols with a statement that will be in the bhw next week, and the basic`s of which are they never applied for a licence this year or any other year and do not need one ! So We Will Be SENDING 8) ;D

If anyone has any info on the europa one loft race i would be grateful as we are due to send our entrys on monday 2nd april :-/
