  1. So if I were to join I'd be flying against all the best Fanciers in Scotland ?
  2. But will the NFC lib in a tail wind just to help the Scots lads & lassies ? or will they look after the main stay of their body ?
  3. But Duncan how many clubs can you have claiming national status in one country ?
  4. I was talking to an SNRPC member from my Area & he was saying that the SNFC & the SNRPC were falling over themselves to get members from Ayrshire ...every thing is getting made easier ...with marking stations in Beith & near Kilmarnock.....expletive remove I had to go to Airdrie when I was lats in the "Nats" ....now you can join on the night in your own club ....expletive remove the next thing you know I'll be getting offered a 50 mile start ;-)
  5. Agree ...........:-(
  6. I have said for years that Pigeon Men are the biggest bunch of sweetie wifes on the planet .....I'm back in it for the love of pigeons & I hope that one day the sweetie wives are talking about me & my son as this will mean we are at the top
  7. Aslong as it's an even playing field .....bye the way well done Rangers ....anti football has won the day ....I hope the final is a good advert for football
  8. The thing that has amazed me since coming back into pigeons is that the *Nationals* are now seeking out fanciers from AYRSHIRE .....when a not so few years ago they could not have gived a stuff about us.....I take it this means birds will now get liberated in an East Wind if at the day of the race the wind is blowing in said direction so we can all have a go at the big prizes or will it be the predictable hold over .....in both SNFC & SNRPC ...my thoughts only ....lol
  9. Forget getting older birds at this time of year, go to a fancier local to you & ask him/her if they could breed you some yb's ....you will have no probs settling these. Most fanciers are finished breeding now & would be only too happy to help a new starter
  10. Some of us have been partying all our lives well since May 25th 1967 ;-)
  11. Bang on !!! especially up here in Scotland :-(
  12. Arguments are what divided the Nation (pigeon wise) Pigeon racing is simple it's fanciers that make it difficult & it will be fanciers that eventually end it.
  13. Welcome Jo Jo I'm sure you will enjoy the site
  14. doo

    tow law race

Ayrshire held over at Kelso & had a good race on the Sunday winning birds doing 1370's & returns seem to be fair to good
  15. Did he tell what strain the bird is?
  16. [quoteif it's your young birds then it will most likely be young bird sickness it's quite common ] Maybe a bit early for ybs.....my opinion
  17. Harry as far as I'm concerned the SNPRC & the SNFC are not Nationals neither are any of the English ones you mentioned. If you have more than one body claiming National status then you have no National .... I cannot make it any simpler than that....this is the point I have been trying to make this past couple of days....this will be my last word on the subject.......expletive remove pigeon racing has become a lot harder than it used to be .....& most of it has nowt to do with the birds lol
  18. With one club no you would have a scottish national ...to have a british national you would have to have all the home nations involved under one banner...then you would have a British National
  19. You are missing the point I am trying to make here......how can they be Nationals .....one Club thats lets all fly in it you have a National......two clubs & you have no National .... it's a club race
  20. The Horse racing Scottish Grand National is being run tomorrow in Ayr, now what if Hamilton race course decided to have another Scottish Grand National over the same fences & distance would this have the right to be called the National or for that matter would the Ayr event still be able to call it's self the National. The way I see it when it was just the SNFC all the Best fanciers flew in it along with some run of the mill fanciers (myself included). Now we have two National codes where some of the best fanciers fly in one & some in the other & some in both, now surely the original format was the best as all the best fanciers flew in it .....but now we have two National codes which are weakened by each others existance because the best fanciers are now spread over two different codes, so how can anyone say the have a National winning bird in their National winning loft if they are only flying against half the National fanciers ....surely to win a National means you beat every one in Scotland that entered birds in the National races but this cannot happen if some fly the National in one & some in the other.....my opinion
  21. David, Marine ply is the best but also the most expensive. I would opt for a sputnik you get different sizes the bigger the more light you get in. Vents at the bottom front I would also suggest at least one at the top back. If you catch the racing bug in the future you will look into ventilation a bit more but the above should meet your needs & keep you birds healthy & happy.
  22. Harry, I have been in and about pigeons since I was 9 years old getting my first loft & birds at 9 yrs I am now 41yrs old so can hardly be called a whipper snapper that knows nothing, all right maybe I have only won things at Club & Fed level & had the first bird out of 5001 birds at one short race between Ayrshire,Renfrewshire & Ballochmyle, but does this mean I don't know how to fly a doo or have an opinion because I have not been in at the Nationals .....I think not. I might have to move to Fife or the Borders to be allowed an opinion if I need to be in at the Nats to have one. I was only trying to say how can two bodies claim to be Nationals when the competition is diluted, I don't think there is anything in that to get all hot & bothered about. I was in no way trying to demeen the results of your birds , I was only trying to get the above point across As for the rest of your post We all have seen tragedy in our own lifes, there is not a person born that does not have a story. Harry enjoy your birds & I will enjoy mine & I think we should leave it at that, as you seem to be getting a bit upset & that is not what I was after. I was only trying to say how can two bodies claim to be Nationals when the competition is diluted, I don't think there is anything inthat to get all hot & bothered about. I was in no way trying to demeen the attributes of your birds , I was only trying to get the above point across
  23. That I have Harry, thanks for the offer but I think I might pass on it.
  24. So there were 124 birds in this National ....it does not matter a jot what they went up with as all birds flying club races have to fly with and against birds coming in all directions....now I was not trying to be-little your birds achievements as thats some flying ....but 124 birds I'm afraid does not make a national ....but it would not matter if it were 12400 birds it would still not make a National as if their are two bodies claiming national status how the hell can it be a National
  25. Cheers Vincent, but do you think Scotland can have clubs claiming National status when the fanciers fly in two different "National" codes
