  1. yeah thats a good one. Picture this, when I go out to the birds in the morning about three of them fly down to the door at the house to meet me, and thats one of them. ;D ;D ;D
  2. Now two of the runts are eating out of my hand, they are a bit like sheep when one does something the rest follow suit. ;D ;D ;D
  3. Thats not fair tammy, you are meant to post a photo of you, not other peoples photos, try again. ;D ;D ;D ;D
  4. Oh my god! I'm sure you look even uglier than that. ;D ;D ;D ;D ;D
  5. so he is insane? I cant wait till he has his ugly mug on pigeon basics so that i can comment on him, I know I'm not exactly beautifull, but I'd like to see his face, can anyone oblige please. ;D ;D ;D ;D
  6. well thats more informative sir. ;D ;D ;D
  7. So if you keep just filling it up, doesn't some of the seed get too old to feed to the babies? or do you refresh totally every once in a while?
  8. Thanks wiley thats more informative than " just a pick me up ".
  9. So if they have food left over at the end of the day do you leave it for them to finish or do you throw it out and give them fresh food? do you have a lot of waste?
  10. What is this tonic for?
  11. Just how much food do you give a pigeon in one day? I was told by one person that they should only get a tablespoon of seed per day per bird, is this the usual feed even when they are feeding young?
  12. Guess what, yesterday was the first day that one of the runts landed on me and ate out my hand, now he won't stay away from me. ;D ;D ;D ;D
  13. well dunno wot you're worried about? The hens don't make too much noise for the neighbours, they sometimes make a noise when they lay their eggs but apart from that they are ok.
  14. We have had hens and pigeons in the garden together for nearly a year and they generaly get on ok, but, don't let the hens into the loft because if you have any pigeons nesting on the ground the hens will attack the babies, also if you have a pigeon with anything wrong with it eg a limp or something like that the hens will also attack it. but, apart from that they live in harmony. ;D
  15. Yes you will be made very welcome, just pm DOVEScot when you have time to visit. :)
  16. they are on general pigeon board. :)
  17. Thanks will give it a try. :)
  18. what food do you recomend
  19. some of them are drinking more than others, is this a problem?
  20. nearer the top of the claws they appear pinkish in colour DO NOT cut the pink bit or it will bleed, then the claw goes white in colour if you keep to the white you will be fine but as sammy says if you just clip a little at a time you will be fine.
  21. I think the Aberdeen doos like it here in Fife because they keep visiting, we had one in the garden that let us get up to it as far as to see that it was Aberdeen on its ring but wouldn't let us get any closer, it only stayed with us for a day then dissappeared again.
  22. Yeah ya right enough, they are free agents to come and go as they please. ;D ;D
  23. but not the same birds as before.
  24. thanks just two or three birds are a bit on the loose side.
  25. You seem to have lost the thread, I and everyone else knows (i hope ) that you need a cock to fertilise the eggs, we have a lone hen that has layed eggs unfertile ;D because she has no cock ;D a month apart and I was just wondering if this was common? because all our other hens have paired and shes the only one thats not.
