  1. bruno midlothian birds were liberated at 7.20 and as you know n/west did not liberate till 10.00am from coldsream so that even east of the cheviot was not good the first birds from kelso lib at 8.45 lanarkshire 9.30 because of poor vis at race point
  2. not saying it was,nt good at race point but the border hills were shut out pentland fife fed were sitting at otterburn and did not lib until 12.50 /13.15 because of terrible weather across the cheviot hills with torrential rain and zero vis
  3. some members have lost more than half there teams I think its about time midlothian members had a damn good think to themselfs as when these birds were liberated the border hills were shut out
  4. poor returns in midlothian one member i know 3 / 20 thats after 8 hrs others only half home ridiculas

    Hi bart nice to see someone else is studying this I myself have been studying this for the last 3yrs and it does affect pigeons navigation more so young pigeons as when we have had a poor race with erratic returns I have checked the sun index chart and if it showing above 5kp this is usually when you will get erratic retuns not just when racing but olso when training but when I speak to other fanciers all I get told is your blethering a lode of p!!ss but I believe that it does have an effect on there ability to home especially if the earth is being hit by a geomagnetic storm

    thanks lads for the advice I am in that opinion myself the birds last race was newbury nat and done well from that race so I think I will just leave them till next year thanks again

    thanks jimmy I normally like them to be no more than 2/3rd flight but paired up in jan so the birds have moulted a bit quicker do you think once they are sitting it might slow it down a bit

  20. I believe all the scottish feds should be racing down the west route as this would avoid a lot of the clashing that we get down the east

    Hi I was trying last night to find out what the conditions were like from leicester up to newcastle on saterday morning between 7.00am and 10.00am
  23. there was a good possibility that most of the snrpc birds came up the west side of the country resulting in good returns
  24. midlothian birds were lib at 7.05
