  3. i .went to beattock last year and took a scudding,but i said in an earlier post i've been to abington plenty times this season and it's been ok,i was there today and got them all home

  5. i've been to abington a few times this year and it's been ok for me i heard some guys were having bad ones fron carnwath i've been there loads of times over the years and cant remember ever having a bad toss from there,i started training a couple of weeks before the end of the old bird season so mine had a bit of a start,don't get me wrong i think i've lost about half a dozen.
  6. i've been to bathgate,north queensferry,and abington this week and there all still there(18),today was agood one because i liberated them with a couple of guys from larkhall and they had to break from them so was happy they came together.

  8. sorry to hear about your losses Davie,one thing that always goes through my mind is where are these missing doos ending up plus why are they not getting reported,your not going to tell me that some of the doos are'nt going into peoples lofts,it's maybe a case of if they are going into peolpes lofts they've maybe suffered losses thereselves and just think they keep them.

    if they've been well trained i wouldn't worry they'll be well scattered,it'll do them a world of good especially if you get them all home.

  13. it's when they stop ranging that you need to start training them,don't worry you'll notice that they won't fly for long when they stop the ranging.

  17. no these rings were a lot smaller,they changed to the plastic coated ones because they were easily squashed.
  18. a friend of mine has the above rings he has got 21 rings never been used they are all in numerical order,surely there can't be much of these about,can they be worth anything.
  19. totally agree with you m8,an insult to a pigeon's intelligence i always start at 15 miles don't get me wrong it usaully takes them 2or 3 before they start coming right but after that they're usually ok, igave them 5 15 milers and moved to 24 miles today and they beat me home so happy enough with that.

  25. i wouldn't get up at half 6just to let young birds out wait till you get home from work you'll have more time,what happens if some don't fancy coming in before you go to work.it's true what the guy's says you have to them under strict feeding si there is know problem getting them in.
