Our club with a small membership would not be feasible to join there club membership the difference between 1-50 and 1-25 is a total rip off,if they continue in this manner we will all be going back to rubbers

Its no the same sitting at home on a blackpool weekend, cannae beleive that for fifty odd years i carried an appendix around with me and was perfectly kind to it,only for it to decide it wanted to leave the comfort of my belly when it was about to be treated to a wonderful weekend in Blackpool,

Would agree with previous posts if you think there is a real problem with the birds have some tests done ,retford poultry are first class with proper written statement ,Had old stock hen that i thought a lot of once take really ill with terrible droppings, figured by time tests were done she would have died ,so i isolated her and then administered 3 drops of Baytril directly onto her tongue for 3 days ,problem solved she returned to first class health immediately, this must be done with proper dropper from a chemist as baytril cannot be misused .If tests were to come back showing something pretty sinister personally would just dispose of them regardless ,jmo.

I think as vast parts of western europe are densely populated and with all the motorways well illuminated some birds won't be racing in total dark, few years back had a bad young bird toss with 30 odd missing when at 20 past ten in total darkness about half of them landed on the loft roof ,will never forget that one.

I have written on the passageway of my loft a quote by the great man it reads, The man who views the world at fifty the same as he did at twenty has just wasted thirty years of his life . The Greatest always will be .

Take of all the old felt, purchase a drum of cold bitumen/tar ,spread it from front to back 1metre wide then lay a pre-cut length of felt on,only nail at overlap on front back and side of roof NO NAILS ON TOP Then spread tar to width of next strip remember all felt is laid from front to back and not length-wise Just but strips together then when finished cut 9 inch strips you will get 4 from a roll width, tar those over the joints,Remember no nails on the top,Your roof will now remain watertight for a least 25 years One final point use a good quality green mineral felt, best to ask a roofing contractor if you no one. Good Luck .

Having not been unable to attend the meeting today because of health ,was any other proposals put forward against maidstone ,with the lanarkshire ,midland and solway all racing west would have thought something more central like the portsmouth area would have been proposed maybe it was ? after being liberated from maidstone which is well inland and in proximity to london any west birds with a chance of winning and breaking for a true line will find themselves flying over central london and in the flight path of london airport if they go with the drag and dont break by leicester they have then to cross country further up from scotch corner to the border region meaning thats dead flying time and the winners are in there dookits while the rest are playing catch up

Have watched the falcon hunting at daybreak also just as darkness falls which is a favorite time for them,if you live in an area with a high density of falcons its just pure luck if you get a good training toss,if they have been fed and are resting you just got lucky if they are hungry and hunting they will take one, have tried all sorts training over the years, you either take a chance and let them all go at once if your lucky you will get them that way but they are an easier target to lock on to ,up in two's is a very good way increasing your chances but takes a lot of time ,have found it can be very tricky liberating yb's in 2 or 3 batches normally if the first batches attracts the falcon they sure will be ready for the 2nd and 3rd groups, best thing for myself nowadays is give the old birds 3 tosses then widowhood no more basket training works great no stress on birds or me ,as for young birds they just got to run the gauntlet if you let it get to you, might as well pack in

Having now raced the doos for 40 years 1972-2012,I have enjoyed all aspects of our hobby, was voted in as vice president of the lockerbie club as early as the mid seventies and was also assistant clock setter which i really enjoyed also,I was then voted onto the president chair at meetings etc and remember being proposed at the time by the late great percy cameron our fellow club member and president of the snfc for many years,we had a very large club in those days and the help and encouragement i received from the older members was fantastic,I then held the secretary's position for many many years another post that i enjoyed holding,at present I hold the presidents position in the club and am fed delegate for our club,I would say you have to be either cut out for these posts and enjoy doing them or give them a miss and do your bit for your club in some other way,We are very fortunate that although we have only ten members in our club Lockerbie we all gel like one large family and are also fortunate to be able at present to share the marking facilities of the Hoddam flying club who have went our of there way to welcome us with open arms they also are a great bunch of lads,This to me is the way things should be Help your fellow competitor forget the politics and let the pigeons do the talking, Good Luck to all in 2012

Would have been going but Hospital stay has put paid to that and Blackpool Cant understand why Newbury was dropped to start with wonderful open liberation point As for Eastbourne Why oh why we persist with this when even the wind stops them from being liberated and immediately they are they find themselves with london to navigate, whereas Portsmouth is dead centre of the country a wonderful clear flight for the birds into open countryside,as it is i will just have to wake up sunday morning and go with the flow and i can be greatful of that
